Wow, this was the best smallville episode I've ever seen. Quick question about Superman. Would he have been a god among men on Krypton too? Or was he just an average person on Krypton? And I heard that people from Krypton only have super abilities on planets with yellow suns...is that correct? Thanks in advance!

He'd be an average Kryptonian, maybe a good athlete, though.

Krypton had a red sun, and supposedly being exposed to the yellow sun's rays gave them super abilities. Whether that really makes scientific sense is another topic altogether.

Then there is the whole aliens thing to deal with, so I think its an argument that just needs to be taken with faith.

Awesome episode (too much stuff on Tuesdays, have to wait until Sunday to watch).

It's amazing how music can send tingles up your spine (love William's score).

The conquering alien idea has been around since the turn of the century.

The idea's of Superman's destiny as one has been around since the mid to late eighties, at least.

Where did they come up with the "8" symbol for Jor-El? In the movie, Jor-El had the S symbol, which I never understood either, unless it was like a family emblem, and S is the only Kryptonian symbol that also has meaning here on earth.

Writers can make the stuff up as they go along. I sort of dig the "8" in the diamond cut insignia, maybe as the "El" surname.

They've had the conquerer thing since John Byrne's revamp if I'm not mistaken (which I could be, I'm more a Batman fan). but I dig the idea of the diamond being the surname, with the interior symbols very close. makes a lot of sense, to me.

Just finished watching the last two new episodes. All I can say is WOW!! I'm only 24, but I grew up watching Christopher Reeves as superman, so to see him in the episode and to hear the original music was simply amazing.
Makes me want to run out right now and pick up the movies.

I'm glad that they're not sticking with the exact story line of previous movies/shows. It's a fresh spin on a classic story.

Complete side note: Did Chloe get a push up bra? The last two episodes she looked pretty stacked ...

I noticed a few people talking about how Lex or others from his teen years should know Clark is Superman and vice versa from knowing him. Well it was explained in the comics why the average joe or even Lex don't see Clark and Superman as the same is because Superman moves his body at a high rate of speed all the time while in costume so that he is always "a blur" to the eye and any photos taken.

I guess there's nothing else to say, since it's all been covered. Awesome ep! I got geek-chills seeing Christopher Reeve.

Forget Dean Cain. What we need now is a guest appearance by George Reeves. That would rock! Oh, wait a minute..................never mind.

I had to kick out the original Superman DVD this weekend and watch it through. It was the first time my wife had seen Superman: The Movie in its entirety. It's got me wondering.. why redo the superman movie? The DVD version with the extra scenes was great! I think the Smallville cast should be appointed in the movie that is planned.

Not sure if Chloe could turn out to later be Lois Lane.. I saw the cut train scene were young Lois noticed superman. Maybe that's why Chloe is so intrigued by Clark? I don't know the whole story on Chloe though. Though the scene when Clark first's meet Lois by Mr. White wouldn't make sense if Lois= Chloe.
