I noticed that as well because after the interview Bill said, "See you later".

What a snowflake.

I thought so too.
The way he jumped up and abruptly left spoke bunches.
What a snowflake.

Re: Real Time with Bill Maher (HBO) - Series Discussion Thread

Bill was giving Omarosa softball questions. She was being so obvious with her creepy, fake laughter and yet Bill did nothing.

Holy shit, the whole panel went all in on Bill this week. I don't think anyone on the panel agreed with a single thing he said this week. He's a huge ass. Not being "politically correct" doesn't mean you can be a dick.

Re: Real Time with Bill Maher (HBO) - Series Discussion Thread

I noticed when Steve Kornacki came out, the graphic crew accidentally put up the picture of Trump and the Saudi king touching the orb instead of the picture of his books. Odd, but whatever.

Then towards the end of the show, Bill made a joke about "you rub my orb and I'll rub yours", which obviously was when they were supposed to flash up the orb picture. Seemingly unaware of the gaffe earlier in the show, Bill praised the crew for getting that picture up there so quickly after his "off-the-cuff" remark.

I noticed that too... Kind of a look behind the curtain moment. Whoops!

I think this week's panel rates as one of THE worst ever.

I love how Maher was trying to explain PC crowd to the panel and none of them even understood what he was talking about. They kept bringing up examples that had nothing to do with PC, and you could see that Maher was getting frustrated because they just don't see how it's killing our society.

It wasn't the greatest panel.
The guy with the hands of a girl was really pulling his punches.
Ordinarily he is frothing-at-the-mouth, loud, and obnoxious.
And the black guy said, as usual, nothing original (he often appears on Morning Joe).
The journalist at least brought some fire to the discussion.

Watched the anniversary special last night and I gotta say that it was pretty...pretty...pretty...good! There was quite a big of ass-kissing of Bill's posterior by the celebrity talking heads, albeit some of it well-deserved, for his more neck-sticking out statements. While one may disagree with what he says or his politics, you have to admire his nervy-balls to say what he's thinking and censors and critics-be-damned attitude. Lots of great clips and punch-lines from his stand-up days, P/I, and Real-Time.

Notice how there were very few conservatives (and no Trump supporters at all) who appeared (except for past shows).

Re: Real Time with Bill Maher (HBO) - Series Discussion Thread

He definitely used to get WAY more GOP/conservative people on than he does trump supporters.

He's had a couple on, but for the most part, even they know they can't defend trump in any reasonable manner.

Where did you see it?
I couldn't find it on HBO...

With America becoming more and more tribal it gets tougher to attract them to appear on the show.

Friday's show was pretty good.

My God, Barbara Streisand should be the poster child of the dangers of plastic surgery.

Yeah, I saw some recent footage of Babs and she’s starting to look like that lion woman.

Re: Real Time with Bill Maher (HBO) - Series Discussion Thread

I noticed that they made a special "second interview" for Barbara Streisand. She wasn't on the panel. I wonder if she felt she needed a one-on-one to deliver her message. Or if she couldn't stack up next to the other panelists. Or some sort of ego thing? I immediately figured it was some kind of Diva/ego thing.

They have done that second interview a few times in the past, though I can't remember who it was.

Jake Tapper and Leah Remini are two recent ones. I think it's done to focus the interview. Usually when the guest sits with the panel the conversation strays off the specific topic the guest is there for.

Babs looks pretty good for someone in late 70s.

Bill was in fanboy mode with Streisand- asked all softball questions. She seemed out of touch (and just looked strange).

Looks like Bill stepped in it:

FWIW, I think he brings up a very good point.
As entertaining as the movies can be, grown men should put their comic books in the garage for their kids to enjoy someday.

Maybe, but Stan Lee was promoting civil rights in his books from the beginning. Stan is a huge pop-culture icon, probably on the level with Disney- and deservedly so. Bill really has no idea what he's talking about.

Maher can go fuck himself. Anyone who makes the kind of elitist statement that Maher made about comic books and the genre is an ignorant asshole. He needs to go and read Maus, or the Sandman by Neil Gaiman or Watchmen or many, many other comic books that are as great as any other literature genre out there.

Again, Maher is a troll asshole who has become mostly irrelevant. I loved a comment on Twitter that described him perfectly: Trying to be edgy but has no point. In a world of John Olivers, Stephen Colberts and Jon Stewart, Maher became a relic from comedy's past.

By the way, Maher didn't have any issues cashing in that Iron Man 3 check.

Re: Real Time with Bill Maher (HBO) - Series Discussion Thread

It's one thing to criticize adults for prolonged adolescence, (which I disagree that comic books are part of), but to somehow equate that with... trump? WTF? Just patently absurd.
How about Maher's own adolescence fascination with pot - I'd say that's even more immature and shows a state of arrested development.
