Then, when he goes to Lionel's office Martha starts screaming "Clark!" Assuming Lionel really is blind, keeping your mouth shut would have been a bit easier!!!. Just shut up and push the kryptonite into the safe while the guy is on the floor and let Clark carry on from there.

5. Johnathan tells Martha to keep her job so the Kents can be on the inside and keep tabs on the Luthors and Martha seems agreeable. I'd think Martha would be uncomfortable with Lionel's advances towards her and would quit. Also, the previews for next week show John telling Lionel to stay away from his wife. Make up your mind, Papa Kent! I'll give them the benefit of the doubt since I haven't seen next weeks ep but it seems like the writers can put in a bit more effort.

Here's hoping that next week is better!

I believe on this one that Clark is running at such a high rate of speed, that even in the daylight, he would have been a blur. But it was night time and there were search lights everywhere. A person would have had to have been looking up at the precise location and time when he made the jump, and then maybe, just maybe they would have seen something unusual.

This was a good tension filled episode of Smallville. I find it very entertaining the way they handle all the principals involves and create the tension and doubt along the way. This is good plot-driven TV with a splash of character development tossed in for good measure.
I can't remember Clark having a fear of height being mentioned in earlier episodes, but by introducing it, and then having Clark have to face it or lose his mother, it was good character building moment. Plus the grin on his face once he rolls and lands in the Luthercorp building reminded me of when Peter Parker realized he had his amazing powers in Spider-Man.
There's a good possibility that Lionel has part of his sight back, but hasn't told anymore, and that could mean he saw Clark use his super powers earlier this season (and that would explain the whole hoarding of the meteor rocks and the file on Clark. Too bad Martha didn't get a good look at that file.

Here is my guess on future shows/ending of the series:
1. Superman's outfit is in the spaceship
2. Lex will blame Superman for his fathers death
3. Lex takes over Luther Corp
4. Lex turn "Super" bitter and evil
5. Lanna learns about Clark's powers and thinks she will not be able to fit into his destiny. She will hid the fact she really loves Clark. The 2 stay best friends and she moves on with her life.
6. Clark flys off to Metropolis/College as Superman

4. Lex turn "Super" bitter and evil

2. Lex will blame Superman for his fathers death (Just like in Spiderman)

4. Lex turn "Super" bitter and evil (It's already started last night)
5. Lanna learns about Clark's powers and thinks she will not be able to fit into his destiny. She will hid the fact she really loves Clark. The 2 stay best friends and she moves on with her life. (That's a shame for Clark)
6. Clark flys off to Metropolis/College as Superman (Can't Wait)

as far as Clark's Father telling his wife to spy on the Luthers... He didnt know that Lionel made a pass at his wife yet... Maybe next week he finds out.. Hence the "stay away from my wife" thingie!
Remember superman has alot of things that are weird and so easily explan... I mean, all he uses to throw people off are GLASSES.. sure no one can tell that Superman looks alot like Clark and vice versa.
I agree with ur Helicopter thingie...

There is a no tights no flight rule with the creators. They said the only chance of seeing Clark flying or wearing a suit would be the last episode of the series. As huge of a hit this is for the WB. They made a profit this year. We will be seeing Clark in college. Maybe at Kansas State or somewhere studying Journalism. Sometime this season I think
I was hoping to see her yesterday and

This episode was really good at exemplifying the future Lex/Superman relationship. And Lex, no matter how much scheming and manipulation he tries in order to win his father's attention (affection?), it's only causing a wider and wider rift, with Clark in the middle of it all. They revisited a previous theme from last season when Lex looks on with disgusted envy as Clark and his parents happily walk off together in the end, while he himself has nothing to show for it.
Seems like Clark leaping around from building to building was a nod to the early comic book description of the character (in those days, he could leap 1/8th of a mile, but not fly, as that power wasn't incorporated until later).
I expect Lionel Luthor to be around awhile longer because he'll be a catalyst of what Lex will eventually become. I think when Lionel dies/gets killed, it sends Lex to the breaking point.

Finally watched it in its entirety. Good ep. Lots of plot holes. [Which have been mentioned already...] As far as Martha agreeing to stay employed with Luthercorp...she didn't really say yes. Right after Jonathan presented it as an option, they cut away to Martha putting the metal in the flour. Good to see Maggie Sawyer too. I'm liking the 'lil "inside" touches they add.
This was the first ep where the Kents [minus Clark] REALLY got on my nerves. Especially Jonathan.
[50,000 points & my undying loyal gratitude to anyone who can tell who this is...]

I am pretty sure in the cave that clark and the native american girl saved there is a spot for the Octagenal Disc.
An in that episode Lex saw the stop for it also. He had it then Lionel got it.
Does anyone else remember this?
And what would be in the cave? A hologram of clarks father?
In the movies what was his fathers name?

You are right with the Clark reference from Martha tho.

This is funny only if you've heard Kevin Smith's Superman story.
I think Marta hid the disk because she doesn't think Clark is old enough to learn about where he came from. She is keeping the disk safe until he is an adult.
