Bridezillas! Fox does it again!

Just when you thought Fox had scraped the bottom of the barrel, next Monday (1/27/03), they give us "Bridezillas", basically a show of wedding footage showing how bitchy brides become on their wedding day.

Just Monday night? They probably have enough footage for an epic mini-series.

After seeing the commerical last night during Joe, I secretly knew I would be setting my VCR next Monday.

Don't tell anyone.... It's my secret shame

I missed this commercial because I watched Joe on Tivo. Since my wedding is about 5 months away, this ought to be some frightening viewing for me.

Why doesn't Fox create a show of grooms/brides who cheated at their bachelor/bachelorette party?

Sooner or later the only sitcom on FOX will be Simpsons. A bunch of freek shows and Simpsons.

this show looks fabulous! i am currently enjoying gossip concerning my bestfriend's soon-to-be-sister-in-law plan a monstrosity at st. peter's cathedral and the plaza (reception) in NYC! she's rich, moody, and high-class. he's from the po-dunk redneck riviera and comes from a very respectable working-class family with good morals.

one of my favorite incidents so far has been her mother making it clear that there would not be any "racoon" served at the reception!

so if these gals are anything like that then this should be a fun ride!

Hmm. No comments? I caught it while channel-surfing. Not as bad as the show title made it out to be. But of course, a bride-to-be had to have a $15K diamond necklace. The groom may be in debt until he's 90 but he gave it to her.

I thought it was really bad. I thought it would be all these psycho women, but it was more that they were all so spoiled. One lady spent like $100,000 on their wedding. The average dress was like $5000. The show was basically a bunch of spoiled little girls marrying rich older men (that one woman's husband had to be 20 years older), and it wasn't nearly as funny as I thought it would be.

I doubt it'll be on again.

Fox has no soul. But at least we'll have semi-decent programming in Hell!

I've always been amazed at how *some* think it's a better idea to blow what amounts to more than a substantial downpayment on a house on a one day event that really doesn't need to be the circus it always turns out to be. How does anyone justify a $100,000 wedding?

This was hilarious! That one chick with the 20 min cocktail hour was a real beotch. She got what she deserved (though the HUSBAND is the one that's going to suffer).

Odd thing was the show was mostly about her... in the very beginning I realized that I went to college with one of the guys (Tim of Tim & Amy). Their ordeals were hardly on the program.

I wonder what FOX was really trying to do when they filmed all this... I mean SURELY this wasn't the intended final product of following 8 women through their wedding planning. Do you think the couples got re-imbursed or compensated by FOX somehow? Reason I'm asking is because Tim's family is LOADED so I'm wondering why they'd even consider doing this FOX thing...

I think this was footage filmed for another show (on cable, IIRC), and edited in a way to make the brides look bad.

This show's main flaw was that it was horrendously boring. I expected a lot more shrieking and yelling, that sort of thing...but it was pretty mundane so I switched it off.

As my friend told me, weddings are great. It's something that everybody should experience at least two or three times.

I don't know, but I went to a wedding that cost at least $250,000. It was pretty extravagent, but I had a good time. FREE DRINKS.....to say the least. My next door neightbors went to a wedding last year at Pebble Beach. They didn't know what the family spent, but they did it like the Oscars, where every guest got gift baskets with cel phones, pashmina scarves, perfumes, $500 spa gift certificates, etc. That was for 250 guests, they probably spent $100,000 just on parting gifts.

I read that the sultan of Bruhni through a party where every person in attendance got a new Mercedes as a parting gift! Now that's a party!

What was the deal with the Japanese bride? She never let her fiance kiss her. Even when the photographer told her to for the pictures, she wouldn't let him kiss her. I don't even think they kissed when they got married. I have a feeling that was a green card wedding because it sure wasn't for love.

And what was the deal with the couple where the bride was the grooms boss. I wonder where they work that allows that.
