I've never watched Ed, and now, I probably never will. I have grown to pretty much hate that guy and his smart-ass comments, and I've never watched Ed, and now, I probably never will. !!!
Lighten up guys....it was a cartoon, and the 'ambiguously gay duo' moments they showed were hilarious. How very sad that it somehow offends and threatens your childhood in some wierd way and results in you "hating" a pretty damn funny guy and a great show....on the other hand, look at the bright side, you just won uptight post of the day!!

I didn't even know what a Member's Only jacket was until I saw this on VH1. I'd heard of them, but never actually saw one.

Saw Duran Duran myself in 1984 at Cobo Hall. Was wearing a really ugly, brown leather coat, huge baggy blacks pants, and a white T-shirt. I shudder at the thought. I remember looking around the arena and noticing there were very few men. It had to be close to 10-1. Then Simon and Nick got the women worked up and that night was PERFECT!
Those were the days!

I sat in abject horror when, a mere seconds before it was played for all, my brother recited the lyrics to the "Pound Puppies" ad campaign.
And that Teddy Ruxspin (sp?) was pure evil.

Man, this sucked about 5 hours of my life away this weekend. Between this and the Friday night 'Real World' marathon, I think I'm growing roots out my ass.

These shows have been great. Really fun to see some of this stuff again.
RE the "Ed guy". I haven't seen the show Ed, but I thought that guy was pretty funny.
The guy who really bugged me was Hal Sparks. I love him on QAF, but dude, come on. You don't have to make fun of EVERYTHING about the 80's. Seriously, I can't remember him liking one thing they showed. Every time they went to him, he was making fun of what they were showing. It just bugged me. Plus, he came off as very geeky. Way geekier than me.

Look at the bright side, you just won the "I'll combine two separate individual's posts, and use that to make an uninformed statement about how that person needs to lighten up" post of the day.

Someone else posted about him making fun of He-man. If one person says he hates someone, and someone else asks why the guy was making fun of He-man, it is not valid to combine the 2 quotes and attribute it to one person. (Which you clearly implied in your first sentence: "You've never seen him before today and now you hate him because he made fun of He-Man?")

The H0mo-erotic undertones of He-Man was absoulutely the funniest thing ever. "I must protect my 'special secret'!"
Also the commentary about the "Don Johnson look" after Miami Vice was hilarious. "We looked...Gay"

I was able to catch 83 and 84 last night! Funny $hit! I'm with those who want a DVD of this!
"Return of the Jedi is probably the most incestuous movie made..." or something to that effect.
And for the record, I found the Ed guy very funny. LOL

I recently read an article in the back of Entertainment Weekly, and Joel Stein said he called up the exec-producer of that series and asked if he could be in the "I Love The 90's" version...
The guy said something to the tune of "It's more likely that we will do a second hour to the 80's shows than do a 90's version."
So we might wanna watch out for the 2-hour versions (count: 20 hrs!) of this soon-to-be-played-every-holiday series!

The Ed guy, Michael Ian Black, was an original member of the comedy troop The State which had a short-lived series on MTV back in the early '90s and created the recent film Red Hot American Summer.
And IMO, he was the best thing about the I Love The 80s.
I also thought Hal Sparks and the ESPN Sportscenter guy were pretty funny too. Funny considering I hated Hal Sparks when he hosted Talk Soup after John Hanson left.
I wouldn't mind if an additional ten hours for the show was created, hell I'd welcome it with open arms, but only if they bring back Michael Ian Black.
