He's tried to talk to Avon about being smart and playing it cool, but since this is a guy who had Avon's nephew murdered, it's not surprising that he might try to set Avon up as a last resort. String is one cold man when it comes to business.

BTW...Settle an argument, was the girl that banged and was later shot by Marlow DeAngelo's ex? If it was it would explain String and Avons reaction to her death.

It was the girl that Avon hired to seduce and lure Marlow (the plan that backfired and got Avon shot).

He knows that much.

The girl who got shot was named Devonne and D's ex was named Donette. So no it wasnt the same person.

I have a couple of questions. What happened to Bunk he seems to have just disappeared after the gun recovery and where is Bubble's junkie partner?

He started hanging out elsewhere when Bubbles started snitching for money.

Didn't Bubbles ditch him a few weeks ago, wandering off when he couldn't stop doing those penny ante grifts? (Like the ladder thing, which I enjoyed.)

Yea I saw the ad for season 2 today as well. I think the Shield season 3 comes out the same month my two favorite shows.

Johnny was in a bad state in Hamsterdam last we saw him...he was repeating "Im a Viking!" when Bubs took off.

He thinks he's Randy Moss.

Shotting up his own car happened before season 1. It was the reason he was dumped on Daniels in the first place.

He also blinded that kid in one eye.

this blows...I hurried home from a friend's house to catch it, but they were showing some stupid movie :(:(:(

Was it the Peter Sellers movie? That is what I got here in Canada. I PVRed it. I will watch it in the next couple of days.

Sucks to miss The Wire though.

The wire begins to yield information about the Barksdale organization, though finding links to the top proves elusive. Stringer and Avon reminisce on how far they've come, with each harboring plans for the future.

Why don't more people watch this show? According to David Simon:

1) Cast predominantly black. Predominantly white nation stereotypes it as "black show" and feels comfortable ignoring same.
2) Requires thought and commitment to watch and absorb complex plotlines and subtleties. Television in America is by an large a vegetative medium.
3) Filmed in Baltimore. Baltimore? What the fuck?
4) Although supported by HBO and given creative license, first and second seasons had most episodes premiering at ten o'clock following Arliss or Sex in City -- shows that had very different appeal and audiences, I think. Third season premiers at nine, but alas, this fall NFL football and Desperate Housewives have the cultural zeitgeist surrounded.
5) Not enough happy endings.
6) I can't understand what the Negros are saying.
7) What the hell is a D.N.R.?
8) Not an Emmy nom to be found. Did I mention it was written and filmed and produced by people who don't live in New York or Los Angeles.

I love this series, and while it took a while to pick up, this could be my favorite season. It definitely takes a commitment, but it is well worth it.

I think this shows how well written "The Wire" is a few weeks ago someone on another board pointed out that the cast was primarily black. I've watched the show since season 1 and never noticed that.

And ironically in season two they employed more white actors than blacks, and it was the weakest of the three.

Season two wasn't weak at all.

Unfortunately, it looks like there won't be a season four.

I love this show and watch it every week.
