Amen. I'm actually cheering on Will now. Maybe cause I identify with him - the nice guy; the perennial girl's best friend.

The other interpretation of the watch stop ticking is that for Vaughn, by meeting Sydney, time stopped for him. He knew that he met the one he was meant to be with.

Okay, still hokey, but women seem to eat that shiite up!

I've always liked Will better and never understood why people hated him because he was the nice guy and was looking out for Sydney.

I know that's what the line meant, and I'm a woman, but it made me roll my eyes! Too hokey!

One question-- how does getting a finger in a box prove Emily is alive? That makes little sense.

Marshall is the laughs per line king of television.

Is anybody on the show right now one of the possible 40 perfect scorers on the IQ test? They should be around 25 right now, which seems young for most of the cast.

That's exactly what I said while watching it. He asks for proof that she's alive and they send a body part?!? And that proves what, exactly?

Patman 12-04-02 11:56 AM

Just proves someone has Emily's body...dead or alive.

Yeah, she never kills anyone, she just kicks them or shoots them with a dart. I guess the producers want to keep her sympathetic in the audience's eyes. But of course Dixon and Jack kill all the time. :)

As for this episode -- they seemed to keep it kind of vague. All three of them were shooting, and bad guys kept falling. You can't be sure if Sydney killed anyone or not.

I thought the Vaugn thing was pretty obvious... but i might be mistaken.

I thought he said that his dad told him that the watch was so accurate, that he could set his heart by it.

And then the watch stopped on the day they met... so his heart stopped.

Still really, really hokey.

I had originally thought that the reason Sydney nearly fainted while she was shooting was because she had killed someone... but she had just been shot. I don't think they have ever shown her killing anyone directly.

Before, he just seemed desperate to be with Syd for no good reason other than she was hot. Plus, it seemed a bit sleazy that he went for her after her fiance got killed. And it seemed he was chasing down the clues just to impress Syd rather than out of genuine care for her.

But now, their friendship seems much deeper. He's been through the wringer for her, and her for him. A relationship between them would now be EARNED and that means a lot more.

Amen to that. I actually had to replay it on my Tivo several times because I didn't believe that they would actually put a line THAT corny in there and thought I had somehow misheard or misunderstood what he was saying.

This episode was an episode of a bunch of great scenes that didn't belong together. That song at the end.. WTF..

but its Alias, its Jennifer Garner, so its still pretty damn good. :)

The whole Emily thing is probably Jack's doing (distracting Sloan so he can take the family all over the world).

That is exactly what I was thinking! Jack and Sydney have been doing a lot of non-SD6 stuff lately, and it doesn't matter because Sloan is off in La-La Land.

Heh. I thought about that, too. He even had a little scene with Sydney that possibly alluded to this (paraphrased):

Syndey: "How did you clear this with Sloane?"
Jack: "Don't worry, I took care of Sloane."

I thought it was curious that they never showed how Jack took care of Sloane... unless the phone call and the special delivery was how Jack took care of him.

I wonder if this will lead into a plot in which SpyDaddy gets even darker as a character. First episode, we find out that he's a superspy. Then we see him kill Vaughn's coworker that was a moel for Khasinau (?). Then we see him set up SpyMommy. Then we see that he put Sydney through Project Christmas. What's next?

Question: Does SD-6 no longer monitor Sydney's apartment?

I just find it odd how her & Will can have all these CIA-type discussions in her house when they killed her fiance after overhearing conversations on her phone and in her apartment.

Will asked her about that in the premiere, I think. She said there was something in one of the lamps (I assume from the CIA) that either disables or intereferes with the bugs. Not sure why SD-6 hasn't noticed they can't hear anything in her apartment anymore.
