Buffy 11/26/02

I just caught the next episode of Buffy. Plot points and other spoilers below:

Spoiler:
It went on to further the story a great deal more. Principal Wood finds Jonathon's body and buries it himself. Willow runs into Andrew, who is buying blood, and brings him back to the rest of the Scoobies. Spike is still being held by the Scoobies, who are trying to find out what is happening to him. The gang gets attacked at Buffy's, by people we have seen before. Buffy and the rest realize who they are facing - The First Evil.

And the worst thing about the episode is:

Spoiler:

We don't find out what happened to Giles! Buffy contacts the Council to find Giles, but they cannot find him either (they tell her that they no longer keep track of him, but in fact, they cannot find him). There are many reports of Council agents being hunted down and killed as well, and Travers decides that they need to regroup and strike back.

Funniest line:

Spoiler:
Xander, referring to getting information from Warren: "I'll be pumping him in no time."

To keep it general, this episode definitely pushed the storyline along, and was a great episode overall, IMO.

lol, i read the funny line spoiler, but couldn't read more, il just wait until tmorow!

Toxygen 11-26-02 03:57 PM

ok, at the end, did
Spoiler:
the building with all the watcher council explode?

That's how it looked to me anyway.. and if it is, it pisses me off because it's an X-files kind of ending to tie up lose ends.

Patman 11-26-02 07:57 PM

Whoa! Looks like the early guesses on the Big Bad were right on the money.

I still can't believe they

Spoiler:
blew up the Watchers Council's building!

The rest of the season is gonna rock!

palebluedot 11-26-02 08:05 PM

Pretty decent episode...my interest is peaked. I was sort of hoping for a different kind of "evil" other than the first vamp but this will do.

elektra 11-26-02 08:09 PM

I knew it!!!! I knew it!!!! I knew it!!!!

I called it was going to be the first evil from Amends. Holy cow dung Batman! I knew the principal was no good too.

I liked this episode a lot. Except I don't like not knowing what happened to Giles.

What blew up in the end? Was it the Watcher's Council building?

It's definitely not the same angle of the building in both shots. In the pre-Watcher speech shot, the building has two chimneys and a rounded extension (patio?) level between the two corners. In the explosion shot, the building has three chimneys, with a square extension between the two corners. It could be the same building from a different angle, but here's to my hopes that we haven't seen the end of the Watcher's yet.

And, we've got a cliffhanger going into repeats.

Spoiler:
And, we head right into it with a bang. Please tell me Ripper is OK.

Wow! Great episode.

Terrific performances all around. Willow and Anya looked great too!

We won't get another show until next year, is that right?

I might get blasted for saying this or maybe the Buffy thread is the best place to do it, but I'm far more into what's happening with this story than the Sopranos which, seemingly, gets all the attention.

Anya:

"Not on my watch." (Slap)

"The weasel wants to sing, he just needs a tune."

movieking 11-26-02 09:10 PM

What did Spike say when Buffy asked him about the chip in his head not working? I couldn't make out what he said.

elektra 11-26-02 09:10 PM

I know the Anya stuff was totally cracking me up.

Notice the moves on Dawn? Almost starting to fight like the slayer. Hmmmmmmmmm......

A quick way to find out Gile's fate-- see if the next episode gust-stars Anthony Stewart's Head.

lwhy? 11-26-02 10:15 PM

Spoiler:
Anthony Stewart Head signed on for 10 or more episodes I think. They wouldn't kill Giles yet. That vampire looked alot like the Master right? Is it the master.

lwhy? 11-26-02 10:16 PM

Anybody know the date of the next new episode?

Jadzia 11-26-02 10:20 PM

I loved the line from Warren:

"Babe, Pig in the City was greatly under-rated."

and

"That'll do, PIG!"

Mantecore 11-26-02 10:21 PM

Wait i am alittle confused, so is this the first vampire from like season 1 THe master? or the first vampire ever? But Very awesome episode, i was very impressed

MrX 11-26-02 11:02 PM

Outside of the Anya scenes I thought this episode was boring. I'm having a hard time getting interested in the show this season. I think the big bad on Angel is a better storyline then this one with the first evil. I'm starting to lean to the side that it's a good thing if this is the last season.

das Monkey 11-26-02 11:43 PM

They really seem to have this show back on track. Perfect balance of humor and drama. Between Andrew and Anya, there were plenty of good laughs. Anya gives me the hot when she starts kicking ass.

I thought it was a bit silly that Buffy tied Spike to a wooden chair. I gave the screen a nice -rolleyes-, since he could easily just break the chair ... thankfully, he did just that, otherwise it'd be doubly bad. Still silly that Buffy didn't think of that.

I like how most things are still up in the air, but it's going to be torture waiting for new episodes. We don't really know what the Principal was up to, the Watchers are mounting up but to do what, and who knows what happened to Giles. Although the effects were a bit of a let down, it's still cool to see a full-on vamp, instead of the human-hybrids we're so used to.

Oh, I thought the Buffy/Spike scene was just a bit forced, but overall very well done. There are few things more powerful than knowing someone believes in you, and I like that they took it in that direction.

Loved the show tonight. Much better than last season.
If it wasnt the Watchers building that blew up, why on earth would they show another building after they showed all of them talking. That sure would be misleading.

Loved the interrogation scene.

It sucked that they almost had the house repaired and then those nasty vistors showed up.

ChefWinduAZ 11-27-02 01:48 AM

Spoiler:
When the head of The Watchers Council ordered that all operatives be called up to go to the Hellmouth all I could picture was the climatic fight scene from Attack of the Clones.

sabre 11-27-02 06:48 AM

will someone please, please, please, stake spike already

Pointyskull 11-27-02 07:21 AM

Andrew is too friggin' funny.
Man oh man, Anya looked terrific :eyebrow:

Damn those upcoming rerurns.........

tywebb1976 11-27-02 07:32 AM

Very good episode, they are making up for the lackluster season last year.

Yeah - can someone help us out with this one? I don't think it's the Master. So who's the first evil?

Patman 11-27-02 08:18 AM

You'll have to go back and re-watch "Amends" for more First Evil details.
