Holy crap! That was an excellent episode. The fight choreography still bugs me however. Can't they get the same people that do the Angel fights? They seem more natural somehow. The fights on Buffy lately have been very wooden and a little too choreographed.

Question...Who is, Kim Bauer ?
God, I hope you are wrong about Giles. I dont want a evil one running around.
About Spike, I thought it was the morrphy thing that was making him do it. Someone else on here seemed to think it was all in his head?

Didn't care for this one. The awful singer and band ala Aly McBeal? Spike doing his brooding James Dean impression? Yawn. The only good part of this boring episode was the final two seconds.

Any episode that has to shoe-horn in another musical guest and which includes an explicit reference literally to the "Big Bad" obviously didn't get through the whole re-writing process. Much of the time, it almost felt like the writers had lifted whole conversations from fan chat threads and popped them into the characters' mouths.
I thought the Spike/Anya scene was very stiff and simply thrown in for a random bit of funny. And the whole "morphy" thing just isn't gelling properly. There's no sense of dread when there's no differentiation between the characters and their doppelgangers.
What is it with UPN pushing these music artists in their shows of late? Trying for some of that cross-marketing magic?

Why would they have to ax (literally) Giles in England to allow the Morph Giles to appear in Sunnydale? We’ve already seen [apparently] a Morph Spike and Morph Buffy.
What’s with the song that seems to transform/hypnotize Spike? Is that real, or all in his mind?
Let’s discard the possibility of a crossover for a moment. Anyone think that Big Bads happening at about the same time on Buffy and Angel are just a coincidence? I’m not implying anything cross-network. But Joss is running both shows, n’est ce pas?

Kim Bauer is a character on "24" (Fox). She has a penchant of being very dumb in stressful situations, but she's a very cute blonde girl at the cusp of womanhood, and we love it when she runs.

I too am kind of fed up with the "musical guests" every episode. I like Aimee Mann ok, but they don't need to take the route of artist of the week, especially when they stop the plot dead to just focus on the music.
In terms of Giles

If anything, I feel it makes the season feel way more like an earlier season.
I point to "When She Was Bad" with Ciabo Matto (sp?) intercut with Buffy's seduction dance with Xander. We got the same thing with Aimee Mann intercut with Spike and the girl vamp fighting. The plot didn't STOP, and it was the cutting back and forth that made it work for me then, and it worked for me now.
P.S. And it isn't even CLOSE to "every episode." C'mon.

It cracks me up when people talk about the "writing." I know of one actual scrennwriter in dvdtalk, but these armchair "writing critics" are sometimes too much. Do people just post things that they perceive to be "intelligent sounding and insighful" to try impress themselves? It must be, because I don't think I am the only one who isn't impressed! Lighten up!
Oh, and I think the musical guests are okie dokey!

As much as I like chit-chatting about BtVS after the fact, it all comes down to that 40-some odd minutes on Tuesday night.
We all know the show's premise is implausible right off the bat, so all I expect is a few good laughs, a little suspense and something to string me along until next week.
I haven't really been disappointed yet...

Or perhaps I'm not seeing your point.

Can you suggest a better term for the "script" or "screenplay" or both?

And I agree with 12th Monkey, havn't been dissapointed too much! Well, except for seaon 4's "Beer Bad", but even that, my least favorite Buffy ep, is still better than 90% of the crap out there!

I personally enjoyed the episode - musical guests don't bother me as long as the plot keeps rolling. Please, please, please don't let Giles go out this way! He deserves so much better though it would be cool for him to return as the big bad

In a nutshell, she was in Til Tuesday (hit 'Voices Carry'), and then she went on to do some critically acclaimed solo work. Check out the movie Magnolia - her music is almost as important as some of the characters....

The only reason I think The Big Bad are the same on Angel and Buffy is because Wanda from E! Entertainment said this when asked if they were one in the same.
Heres the post:
From shaun401: Are the Big Bads on Buffy and Angel related? "From beneath you, it devours" seems pretty much like the big bad on Angel last night.
Ding, ding, ding! And a Kewpie doll for the lady.
