Wow.
After missing last week's ep, I vowed I wasn't going to miss this one. The pilot was pretty good & I like William Fichtner, so I decided to give it a chance.
I have to say this was a really good episode. I hope it lasts longer than Push, Nevada.

About as much as ER is a copy of Chicago Hope which is a copy of St. Elsewhere which is a copy of Trapper John MD which is a copy of...
So long as a show is set in a hospital, it's never going to end. [and i'm sure I missed some in between]
What does it for me is the performances. I like the interaction between the characters & it's wittier than ER.
Right now I could care less about 75% of the people on ER. About the only two I like are Romano & Gallant [neither of which have much to do]. Maybe i'll have that problem with MDs in nine years [if it lasts that long], but right now i'm enjoying it.
And, apparently on DVDTalk i'm the only one.

I have been watching MDs since it debuted and I love the show. It isn't my favorite new show this season but it is up there. Tonight's episode was a little sad at the end but I enjoy dramas that make you go through many emotions in the span of an hour. I hope that this makes it through the entire season.

A little predictable, but still powerfully done.
A copy of er? Um ... no. If anything, er is a rip from St. Elsewhere, and as already discussed, MDs takes its concept from Article 99. However, as Article 99 was a film seen by surprisingly few people considering the high level of quality and star-powered cast, I have no problem with a show fleshing the story out further for the television audience.
Anyway, in a television landscape dominated by police, courtroom, and medical dramas, MDs is going to have to survive on the strength of the cast, and I think they have the right people for the job (except Yang still annoys me). And judging from the preview for next week, I think we're going to like where they take the next stage of the story that took place tonight.

Man, this can't be good. Perhaps I should cut my losses and not get attached to this show [or i'll end up like the people in the Push, Nevada thread
]
But I'm still trying to figure out the second sentence. It doesn't jibe with the last...
das I think it's RALLY time!

ABC has announced that Rene Echevarria, executive producer and showrunner of MDs, has left the show due to "creative differences." Apparently ABC has been dissatisfied with the content of the first two episodes, but they are becoming increasingly more satisfied with the show. No replacement has been selected yet. Echevarria may have left a sinking ship, as MDs is the next show rumored to be axed.

Not sure what to think of Echevarria. Like most, I know him from Star Trek. I liked a lot of what he did with Deep Space Nine, but he's also to blame for a lot of really lame Next Generation episodes. Combine that with his involvement with the disaster that was Dark Angel, and I wonder if he's the "talent" or the "leech" in the group.
As for rallying, you must have me confused with the Rally Monkey in Anaheim.
