That's too bad. Anderson was great. But it's his choice. I'm not surprised.

Well, I knew it was coming but it's unfortunate as Cooper was a great host and had a lot to do with my enjoyment of the show. This is the one reality series where the host gets as much screen time as the contestants.

Still, it's a great concept so I'm still going to watch. I wonder who the new host will be? If I had my druthers, I'd go with Fred Willard or Charles Grodin.

So I take it that the mole will be back?

Wasn't the show cancelled last year?

I know they showed the episodes during the summer but I assumed it was still a goner.

Thanks to strong ratings for the revival of "The Mole 2", there are at least two more editions of "The Mole" in the works: a celebrity version to run in January, and a regular version to run later in 2003.

Awwwwwwwwwwwww crap! Anderson ruled!

Screw CNN for being such tight asses. What's wrong with leaving for a month to film? And as someone mentioned here once, he could have turned the month-long filming into a little "Where is Anderson"-type segment for CNN, ala Matt Laurer.

Bastards.

I agree that this totally sucks. He was a great host - very dry, very witty. Regardless of who they get to host the next one, it will be very hard to fill the place of Anderson.

I always compare every reality host to Anderson and they always pale in comparison. I can't see anybody replacing him and I can really see the show suffering with his absence. He would've been the only saving grace when they have the washed up celebrities on. I just don't think I can watch Baldwin, Kathy Griffin and whomever....and how did they not get Coolio? Apperently he'll do anything to get on T.V.

May I suggest Conan O'Brien to be the host for all new moles. I think with his creativity and humor, it should be better. Though Moles on ABC, so that may be a little problem.

but I'll keep my finger crossed.

No! That's like Jeff Probst leaving Survivor, except people like Anderson!

CNN sucks.

Damnit Damnit.

OK EXECS, you may redeem yourselves by hiring Christopher Walken to replace Anderson. Now that would be sweet.

This really blows. Was it definitely CNN saying "No" or was it Coop's decision? I can't imagine he declined to return. Boo.

Anderson Cooper is a pretty cool host. Too bad he won't return to The Mole. But I'll still tune in because I really like the show.

Well, fooey. Anderson is a major part of the reason why The Mole is great, IMO. His replacement better be good or I'll not watch it...well I still will but I won't be happy!

It's regrettable that Cooper will not be able to return to the Mole, but it doesn't come as any surprise. Production of The Mole was completed prior to September 11th, and Anderson was offerred a job afterwards. I respect his decision.

From what I saw on the show, Anderson Cooper was an active participant in the show unlike Jeff Proest who just showed up occassionally.
