DVD Talk Limited Edition
Finally, an episode that didn't make me remorseful for wasting an hour of tape space. This was the week that I decided if it didn't do anything I was going to drop it and obviously this was the best of the three so i'll give it a couple more weeks. It hasn't yet reached the bar of a show I "want" to watch every week, but if it can continue to keep the level high, I might just stick with it.
But then, Whedon can write every episode right?

DVD Talk Platinum Edition
Finally watched this tonight and its definately the most consistent episode so far. And probably also the best for that reason.
The whole 'companion' thing seems a little Dune inspired, in which the 'Bene Gesserit' are a sect of concubines and one of their powers is the ability to hypnotize using their voice.
Great touch of leaving out the audio in the space scenes - I especially noticed it when the shuttle took off from the ship.
So, is the episode this Friday the original pilot?
