they already tried the "breating fresh air" gimmick with transformers and it failed... God I hated those stupid beast wars crap.

the point is, they tried something new and different for a cartoon that is in it's 20's. it didn't work. Stick with what works. even the last little piece of ti where optimus was a firetruck looked bad. still had that bug look to it.

the problem is they are trying to put to much detail into it and make the transformation look more complex then it really should be. I like the Manga out version that the comics have shown us reccently. I would much rather have that then the new designs.

Megatron now turns into a tank. I think that sucks arse. lets see, it's not a tank vs. a Big rig truck...

then again a tank vs. a big gun never made much sense, but hey, I like the white design of Megatron. why the hell do they have to change him so much?

this is much more then breathing fresh air into it. it's taking a design and throwing it away to put in a new design.

turning megatron into a tank is like taking optimus and turning him into a Ryder Moving Van. it just shouldn't happen that way.

What are you going to do?

just don't watch it. I'll bet MORE like it than not like it....

What am I going to do? sheesh, you make it seem like I will strap bombs around my chest or something.

I complained when beast wars came around, and when the autobots still looked like bugs. the new design doesn't fit my cup o' joe. oh well. I will check it out, but I don't know if I will like it.

You bet more will like it then not? well if the story is crap, or they mess with to much, I would figure more would not like it.

No, I'm fairly certain even they knew they were peddling crap. A blind deaf could clearly tell that its sucked.

what's your point? I loved Beast Wars TONS more than the 80's series with it' crappy artwork.

I'm not stuck in -- 80's NOSTALGIA --- I'm open to new directions.

I also APPRECIATE the fact that the writers are willing and bold enough to take them in a new direction every few years.

did you just "word" yourself? Now I know your crazy.

I hated beast wars. I already stated that I will give it a chance, but I also state that it doesn't look like it will be my cup of tea because of the look.

I loved the old cheesy 80's look, and I even loved it more when that 80's look was applied to an anime/manga style as it is represented in the newer comic books. it just looks slicker. stylish, yet very very classic.

the design Armada is trying to pimp pushes me away because they are trying to make it to bulky, to complex. why does it have to be so complex? the 80's style shows you he's a truck even transformed.

and having megatron not white anymore. it just doesn't feel right.

BLASPHEMY!

I dare you to say that at a Botcon and NOT get your butt kicked by Gen 1 Transfans. They outnumber Beast Wars fans. Beast Wars much like Max Steel sucks and blows at the same time. I am open to them going in a new direction but making the characters unrecognizable is almost unforgivable. This new toon may be a fresh start but at the same time you alienate the core fans that made the very first series such a success. When they say they want Transformers they want Transformers not pokemon trains, and poorly computer animated animals and insects. I have to agree with Jack by saying that the Armada comic desgins would just RULE animated. But it looks like we will have to settle for what is given to us, and hope if they do make another transformers movie they go back to the old school designs. Still gonna watch the show .

Giant, why are you "word"ing yourself?

Core fans are core fans for a reason.

Why do star wars fans hate the re-re-releases? because of the changes.

I rest my case

But they're changes made to the original.

Here we're talking about a remake...which itself is a bad idea, but if done right it can be quite good, and if done poorly, well we still have original to look back upon.

And "wording" yourself is a little weird.

Take it easy....

I'm "wording" myself because I'm the ONLY ONE here who agrees with me so I'm supporting myself.

Despite what I've said in my posts I do understand what you guys are saying.

However,

I have no problem with core fans....but they're NOT the only fans and getting new fans IS a goal of the Franchise owners...TRUST ME.

I guess I'm the only other person that liked Beast Wars. I never saw it as a remake or a sequel of the orginal Transformers. I viewed as a different adventure with a whole new cast, with just references to the old series.

I saw beast wars as a different adventure or a fan-fiction of a sort, but I disliked it because they choose animals and really made it bad in my mind.

this, I wouldn't mind so much, but they are doing a lot of changes such as making megatron look way different. why not just make a new bad guy? if it's a remake, let it be one. if it's something new, then change it completely and not try to sell it as a remake which I get the feeling they are doing. could just be me I guess. I'll give it a try. but I don't know if I will like it.

LOL, you've got to be kidding. There are plenty of Beast Wars fans, people who are also fans of the originals. I grew up with G1 and liked Beast Wars for what it was (it did have the same spirit as the original show). Now, Beast Machines, I can understand if someone doesn't like that, and it doesn't have many fans. But Beast Wars does.

I loved the originals... (and have a lot of the toys, and the re-issues).

I never liked the dinobots in the original (kinda goes along with Jack's post), and didn't care much for the Beast Wars series...

BUT, I have bought all of the new comics, and like those (all the different covers, of course ), and am really looking forward to the new show!!!

JUST BRING IT!!

reviews/opinions should be held afterward, not before....

It looks ok, but I hope its better than that crap they aired last week. The new He-Man is terrible. It almost seems like they tried to add some japanese anime flavor in it with the fight scenes but I was really turned off by the animation style. oh well

Word!

I understand you Jack, but you seem too hung up on the Megatron issue, which I see more of a PC issue. We can't be marketing a toy that turns into an actual gun.

Does He-Man at least still do the roll?
