Is Anyone Watching TV?
I have found that I am burnt out on tv. I have no desire to watch the reruns of the shows that are on now and with every other channel airing a "reality based show" , some nights my tv isn't even turned on. I havn't watch this little tv in over 20 years!
Maybe I'm just getting old, or have seen everything. It seems I can guess the ending of ever episode of any show on tv. Is there anything original out there?

I'm enjoying new episodes of "The Dead Zone" and "Sex & the City" on Sunday nights.
I also am watching "Big Brother 3" and "American Idol" during the week. Plus, new episodes of South Park.
I am also catching up on re-runs that I never saw of CSI, Angel and The Outer Limits on Sci-Fi.
But generally, summer is a slow time for TV and we watch more movies.

I rarely watch TV in the summer. Last night was the first network show I've watched (The Re-run Show) in quite some time. The only TV shows I have been watching are on HBO (Sex and the City and The Wire). Every night except for Sunday has been movie night.

I have to agree with Das again. If you have cable or satellite there is simply way too much good tv that goes by the wayside simply because it recieves no or little promotion.
Documentaires
On PBS there is usually something good like POV ( independent documentaries) Nova, Nature ( they are rerunning AFRICA - that miniseries was great.
Comedy's
If you have basic there is always something new and good. 80% of what is on Nick at Nite or TV Land is good tv ( too much Love Boat right now) and if you haven't seen Cheers, Taxi , Cosby Show, Family Ties, etc. you need to.
Drama
Bravo is running a unaired TNT drama called something like Network News with Tim Matheson , follow by the cancelled NBC show Deadline. They also air Moonlighting , St. Elsewher ( best drama ever - way better than ER), and Hill St Blues.
I could go on and on. I'm in the TV forum right, so I am not afraid to admit , I throughly memorize the TV guide and pretty much have a schedule to balance everything I watch. I get bored easily so I make sure I dont watch crap.
Year in and year out I am soo dissapointed with the Fall offerings. For me , Alias is the one truely original drama to come out in years. This year the big rip off is CSI.
Have you seen the previews for the fall schedule Robbery Homocide Division aka CSI New York?

Of the reruns mentioned I have seen them all. The only rerun I would like to watch is Homicide a Life on the Street. I didn't watch it when it originally aired. The only problem is that it comes on at 12midnight on work nights. (since dvd I am to lazy to tape anything)
I really dig that redhead detective that acts butch. Is she a lesbian on the show?

Well having satilite on only one tv,has really limited my veiwing time since my brother's are always watching sports(far to many espn ect channels)! & crap.
So the only time i ever get to watch tv is between weds,thursday-saturday night when my brother is at work(nights ta a casino) & or if he happens to not be home & my little brother is in bed or away.
But i've become so used to not watching much tv....i'm bored when i get the chance since i'm not sure what to watch(usualy check out movies on cable & VH1 Classic for older video's MTV/Vh1 rarely play since the new stuff reeks for the most part) & some old great shows ocasionaly whenever they're on like Family Ties,Taxi & other Nick At Nite stuff.
As for new sitcoms...they don't intereste me at all! They are all played out, been their done that cliched crap & just not as entertaining as the original shows they are ripping off.
So i don't give a **** about NBC's must 'reek' tv & other so called sitcoms that end up being canceled after a couple shows since they suck & the networks can't come up with anything new.
As for the other shows i watch regularly or whenever i can......
The Simpson's....though the last couple seasons have'nt been great,so i watch it sporadically now...& haven't had a chance to watch the much better older episodes since until 11pm or later...i don't havea chance at watching tv!
South Park...again show has'nt been as funny as it used to be...but it does have some great satire's left in their every so foten that i catch them when i can.
Queer As Folk....since the seasons over...won't be watching this 'til the next season.
Thats all i really watch, miss out on everything else & QAF is the only show i ever get to actually watch each week when aired since i can catch the late showing on the West-coast Showtime channel.
Also i stopped watching Seinfeld on FOX long ago....since they air like the same 20 shows over & over. I want variety..& to not see the same episode 2 weeks later since it gets boring seeing them so close together. It's been years since i've seen some of the great Simpson's episodes...& when i do...they are still hilarious!
+ summer is also a bad time for network tv since it's all re-runs. Another reason to not bother watching the networks in summer for newer shows. + the networks suck anyway...& most tv does as well with a few expections.

All I've been watching this summer is The Dead Zone, Sex & The City, and baseball games. To be honest I've spent more time with my DVD's than with my dish. There are some quality shows on the networks in the fall (Alias, 24, Bernie Mac) we just have to wait until Sept to watch them - reruns no longer do anything for me.
