E! Said F**k on TV!

Around 1981, ABC (I think) broadcast The Deer Hunter uncensored. I remember being in someone's dormroom with that on and someone exclaimed, "Holy S#!t, they said F**k on network television!".
And when I was a wee lad, can't remember just what year, Give 'Em Hell, Harry a one-man show with James Whitmore about Harry S. Truman was broadcast and I distinctly remember "Bulls#!t" being un-bleeped.
I think the first MTV video awards show was hosted by Eddie Murphy and was uncensored. Mr. Murphy was quite feeling quite unrestrained about his language.

Back in the late 80s, CBS (I think) ran a tv-movie called "Day One" that followed the story of the Manhattan Project. The movie featured the line "The atomic bomb is sh**," and I remember reading that CBS let it go because it was a very important line between Robert Oppenheimer and Leo Szilard and both scientists had confirmed it was said many years earlier.
I'm pretty sure that was the first time I remember hearing that particular 4-letter word on network TV.

I watched this too. I could have sworn I heard Brooke Burke shout out right before a commercial break "25 Funniest People in Entertainment? What the F!(# is Lisa Kudrow doing on this list? No Howard Stern? No David Chappelle? What a F!(#ing joke! I F!(#ing quit!"
