E! Said F**k on TV!

While watching "Rank: 25 Funniest People in Entertainment" I noticed that Jack Black was on there. They showed a clip from "Tribute". There is a line that goes:

"The demon asked us: be you angels? And we said nah, we are but men. F**K!"

And E! didn't edit it out. It was pretty weird. I know you can say whatever you want on TV, I'm just pointing it out.

Rypro 525 07-29-02 11:13 PM

more tv swearing for ya
162 south park sh*t was said
chicago hope was the first show ever (i think) that said sh*t on regular tv.

freedexter 07-29-02 11:54 PM

The only time I've ever heard f**k on basic cable was on that "9/11" documentry on CBS, but I've never heard it anywhere else. It makes me long for HBO...

Giantrobo 07-29-02 11:58 PM

I coulda swore I heard the wigman Trafficant say S#it on The Don Imus tv show on msnbc.

He said it and you heard all the guys in the studio go "WHOA!!!!" and laugh.

So I don't think I was wrong.

Actually, Jack Black says "Rock!" not "F**k!"

Gattman 07-30-02 12:28 AM

Yeah I was just about to say that I thought the word he sings is Rock not F**k

Just looked up the lyrics

"He asked us, "Be you angels?"
And we said "Nay! We are but men, rock!"

AJP 07-30-02 02:02 AM

I've heard f**k on broadcast TV a few times-on Monday Night Football (way back in the 80's) or NBA broadcasts-the mikes near the players sometimes picked up players and/or fans screaming it at the refs or each other.

Different than someone looking into the camera and saying it, but you're still hearing it loud and clear.

Beat me to it! -ptth-

LBPound 07-30-02 09:10 AM

Didn't Norm let the F-bomb slip out once on SNL?

Cheddarmuff 07-30-02 09:14 AM

E! is cable not TV (available via antenna)...hence it is subject to less restrictions...

While watching the post game after the Red Wings won the Cup this year, Mike Lodish of the Det. Lions dropped several F-bombs on live TV while Brett Hull was being interviewed....Don Shane (or was it Bernie) asked the anchors if they still had a license. rotfl
You never know what is going to come out of someone's mouth

This is not The Greatest Song in the World, no.
This is just a tribute.
Couldn't remember The Greatest Song in the World, no, no.
This is a tribute, oh, to The Greatest Song in the World,
All right! It was The Greatest Song in the World,
All right! It was the best mutha****in' song -- the greatest song in the world.

And it was rock, not ****.

Rypro 525 07-30-02 12:24 PM

norm macdonald said f**k when one of his jokes didnt work, but he said it quietly but many still heard it. the ravens giants superbowl game had several f bombs during the player interoductions.

Yep, but it was clearly audible and made the papers. They said on Stern this morning that E!'s flirting with using nudity on The Anna Nicole Show ... about 10 years and 100 pounds too late ... but I applaud the thought just the same.

RandyM 07-30-02 01:03 PM

I didn't see it but mayby Jack Black was doing like the Beatles. Listen to the start of "I Saw Her Standing There."

"One, two, three f???"

DrThunder 07-30-02 01:04 PM

Anna looked like she was packing some serious chub loving on her person in the previews

rabbit77 07-30-02 01:55 PM

Hey, nudity's nudity, be it on Anna Nicole's show or not. I'm there. :D It's a step in the right direction anyway.

Cable stations are self-regulating so they're not governed by the FCC. They've historically been self-censoring to appease their sponsors. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Flay 07-30-02 06:04 PM

I take it nobody saw the "Scared Straight" special that aired on MTV serveral times last year. They took some kids from juvie into a real prison in order to show them what prison life was all about.

Every sentence spoken by each inmate comtained at least 10 uses of "F**k", completely unedited. They must have said it at least 300 times.

They(not MTV) have been showing The "Scared Straight" shows basically uncensored for years now.

I'm sorry, it really sounds like f**k, I just heard it myself.

Bobby Shalom 08-01-02 03:31 PM

Perhaps, I am just really old, but I first saw Scared Straight on NBC, with much obscenity. And before there was Norm MacDonald, there was Charles Rocket, who said F**k, loudly, on SNL in the 80's.

Draven 08-01-02 03:43 PM

Well, maybe he changed the lyric, but every live/recorded performance I've seen and heard, they say "ROCK!" The audience did it with them the last time I saw them.

JTH182 08-01-02 11:40 PM

Did anyone catch the breast implant show on MTV? Nice titties on that one... uncensored!!

"Oh, that was a tit! That was definitely a tit!"

I remember that broadcast! It happened right at the end of the show after Don Pardo supposedly shot him with a sniper rifle. I think he said, "I'd like to know who the fu@k did it!"

Rypro 525 08-03-02 04:38 PM

i thought scared straight was on mtv and it was uncut.
