I got a question.
Obviously the telegram is really from the producers. Last year, were they consistent in keeping the fiction that it was actually the Mole communicating with the players? Because obviously the Mole would not give herself/himself away, so he / she would not provide an obvious clue, like the telephone number. But, if the telegram is from the producers, and everyone knows it's from the producers and no one is working under the pretense it's from the Mole, the clue could be valid.
What I'm saying is, if they are going to say the telegram is from the Mole, will they be completely consistent with it, and therefore no communications from the Mole would deliberately provide information that could give away his / her identity?
*editted to get rid of atrocious grammar mistakes.

Does anyone believe that people have "tells" when they are lying about something? I've heard different ones, like blinking or looking away from the person he's talking to. I was taping last episode for a friend, and decided to rewatch the final portion in which AC asks the four remaining contestants if they're the mole. Heather, Dorothy, and Al either blink once, twice, or not at all.
Bill? Blinks eight times. I had to watch the tape a few times because of how fast he blinks... I couldn't get an accurate count.
Just another thought.

There are theories that people who are lying blink rapidly or more than when they are not lying. However, I wear contacts that dry out easily and I'll blink more than usual when they're dry or I'm tired. Don't know if attributing Bills blinking to lying is a good way to determine whether he's the mole.
I did notice that Heather and Dorothy both moved their eyes to the left several times during the confessionals. Since my Psych classes were years ago I don't remember if that's a sign of lying or plain thinking. There's apparently a difference between looking left, right, and up.
Anybody know what the theory behind this is?

Laertes, I agree with you that of course the telegram is from the producers, not the actual Mole. And ABC has made a point of saying "Look for secret clues to the identity of the Mole!" so that means one of two things regarding the telegram:
1. The clue is legitimate. The producers just didn't think viewers were smart enough to catch it. Oops.
2. The clue is false. This means ABC is planting clues that are deliberate lies, in which case the viewers can never believe any clues that are found -- so what's the point of leaving them and reminding viewers to look for them every episode?

It's like a telemarketer calling you on the phone and saying "Hello, it's me." That never happens, it's always "Hello, this is Julie from Time-Life Books."
The clue says "The mole is Bill" (third-person narrative). It's brief and to the point. I think this was a legitimate clue.
