It was okay.
Remember, the season premiere tonight is 70 minutes long, so if you record the show, make sure there's some extra record time for the extended episode.

This one won't last. Interesting to have a show where all the leads are female tho, virtually no men at all here. That's fairly brave of them.
I like Smallville because it has fun with the DC continuity but doesn't trample it. The Smallville writers pay homage to the Superman "legend". BoP stomps all over Batman and tosses it in the trash.
I didn't really like it all that much. It's been done, and done better. Sort of a mix of Dark Angel and Buffy.

I was curious to see how it differed from the original pilot.
But, they already got 55 minutes of my life once. I wasn't eager to repeat that mistake. I'm curious though...how was Mia?

I am not overwhelmed by the Mia Sara casting choice as Harlequin. You could tell her scenes with Ashley Scott (Huntress) were definitely recently shot (Scott's hair was different).
There were some minor differences between the pilot episode that was floating around cyberspace for the past couple of months, and the official episode:
1. Voiceover by Alfred at the very beginning is new. The pilot also was longer in the setup of Batgirl getting shot at home, plus there was a lot of exposition via a newscast on the TV that was on in Barbara's place right after she gets out of the shower, and gets brutally shot and crippled by the Joker.
2. The initial scene with Barbara and the new teacher is brand new (the original pilot had Barbara and another guy on the street, and Barbara wanted to push the guy away emotionally). The way it played out, the audience thinks that Barbara is open to a new relationship for the near future.
3. The scenes between Harley and Helena are new, and the pilot didn't have Helena giving away so many details of her life to the court-appointed shrink, Harley. I much prefer the original scene with Sherilyn Fenn. Oh well.
4. Some of the music score is different. Thankfully they changed the even cheesier music that was playing when Helena and Larry were fighting inside Helena's mind at the end.
5. When Harley kicks Larry in his cell at Arkham Asylum, the original pilot had a much better, crisper, more potent kick by Harley's kick double. I felt sorry for the stunt double that had to get kick once more for the re-shoot with Mia Sara in the Harley role for this scene.
Maybe it's just me, but Rachel Skarsten sounds a bit like Kristin Kreuk (Lana Lang in Smallville) in some of her scenes.
Gotta love the "meteor rocks" line when they were discussing "metahumans" during Dinah's brain scan scene.
I don't know how good the rest of the season will be, but I'll stick with it for now.

You'd think ol' Bruce would have been smart enough to put on the Bat Condom... I mean, he has all that money, I'm sure he doesn't want to waste it on child support.

More random thoughts:
This series is set quite a number of years into the future (like 15 years or more from the start of Batman's career, that's my guess). It takes a lot of liberties with the characters, mainly the Huntress who has been turned into a metahuman for this show.
No one should mistake the TV show for the current comic book series that it is loosely based upon.
Dinah may or may not ever develop the sonic abilities of her "Black Canary" character from the comics. Plus (just speculating) it might turn out that the teenage Dinah is the daughter of the original Dinah Lance, AKA Black Canary, who was an expert in hand-to-hand combat, and very tough, and earlier incarnations had her possessing a sonic cry that would render most of her adversaries deaf and discombobulated temporarily. The teenage Dinah might have been given up for adoption by the original Dinah Lance. Who knows...

Having never read or even as much as ever HEARD OF the comic (and thus having no problem with deviations from the comic) I can say that I've seen worse vehicles for shoing off cute young eye candy. It wasn't painful to watch.

Just finished watching it and eeks--I think that'll be the last time. The only thing weaker than the characters was the storyline. Especially the entire climax. If this keeps up, I doubt it'll last. Too bad, too, because I think it's a great idea.

I was really looking forward to this but what a let down.
Cheesy Dialogue and predictable plot. Ughhh.
What happend to Mia Sara?? She looks 45 and Dina Meyers character just sits at the computer most of the show? Very underused.
And the 70 minute show? There were commercials every ten minutes.
I'll give it one more try but I was not impressed at all.

I wasn't disappointed, since I actually didn't intend to watch it. It was ok, but I don't watch "Smallville", so I can't make any comparisons. It was pretty predictable, though. It wasn't exciting, but I didn't hate it. I probably won't watch it again unless nothing else is on.
I didn't really "get it", I'm sure somebody has a synopsis for it, but I started watching at about 9:10 and was lost. Something about Batgirl and the offspring of Batman and somebody dead. Then there was the orphan girl, the pyscho therapist, and Alfred. Everything else I really didn't figure out.
The costumes were very cheesy, though. I was rather impressed with the costumes from the Batman movies and comics, but these were just tacky.

As for the show. It doesnt look good. All of the characters are annoying with the exception of Barbara. I was zoning out by the time the "climax" came around.

Batman and Catwoman hooking up and having a kid was a "Multiple Earth" thing from DC's mixed up past. This "hook up" never happened on "Earth Prime" or "the mainstream Batman" storyline
can anyone back me on this?
