VOY: Scorpion

not really about Scorpion but i thought i'd go with the same type of subject.

what ever happens to species 457194238904 whatever....?

i stopped watching voyager a little after this episode. i'm gonna try to catch the rest in reruns but that'll take months. i know kes flashes away and sends them ahead of borg space.

but i know they still encounter more borg. there is seven. and then some borg kids and then something about a dream/nightmare thing and then in the finale the borg interstate highway system.

as you can tell i've pieced this together from the very few episodes i've seen of the later seasons. so anyone wanna fill me in?

species 8472 or whatever it is makes at least one more appearance, in what I think was a good episode
the borg pop up from time to time fairly frequently after this.
it's definitely worth catching the reruns from here on, assuming they show them all the way through the end, the syndication has been a little off over the last few months as they jumped around in the order a few times

Species 8472 were shown again in the 5th season when Voyager encounters a large structure in space. Inside is a exact replica of Starfleet Academy/HQ and it turns out that Species 8472 is training their people in an attempt to infiltrate the real Earth. Janeway asks them to stop.

from memory, kind of spoils the episode
Spoiler:
species 8472 is afraid the federation is planning on entering fluidic space to wipe them out, so species 8472 figures they'll strike first. Janeway and crew are able to convince them that the federation is actually fairly peaceful and holds no ill will towards 8472

Kind of funny considering that Kes warned them that Speices whatever the hell they're called was worse then the Borg.

God do I hate Voyager.

Seems like every other species they met was supposedly "worse than the Borg" The Hunters also come to mind.

Oh yeah, the hunter guys.

"Please leave our ship! have some holodeck technology!"

Funny considering how many times they refused to give technology, at the price of crewmates lifes, in the early seasons!

well the Hirogen did take over voyager and install holo projectors all over the ship, so at that point it wasn't too much of a stretch to give them their own projectors

I know Paramount would have never allowed the franchise to be sullied, but I think it would have been cool to have Janeway just snap and *really* make Voyager a Ship of Death. Like that episode that's a flashback to 800 years ago, and the Voyager people are all portrayed as ruthless bastards (like the alt. Enterprise in Mirror, Mirror). I love that Janeway quote, and use it to this day: "When diplomacy fails, there's only one alternative: violence."

That and Chuckle's tattoo taking up half his face.

You know, I think having Voyager end up like that would have less sullied the francise then the ending they really had...

That was a great episode too... one of Voyager's few great ones.
