Oh hell yeah, I know I will. Tom Hanks is my second favorite actor right now. I definitely won't miss it.

I'll watch. However, if the tribute is based on his acting career, I think it's highly premature. I've been saying for years that until Hanks plays a convincing heavy (or at least unlikeable character), his career has a massive gap in it, and I don't think it's fair to list him with the Pacinos or the Oliviers. I love Tom Hanks, and I know that in the future he will earn all the accolades imagineable, but as an "actor" he still has some work to do. (I realize there are some projects in the pipeline to take care of this) If the award isn't for acting, but more for intangibles, then bring it on. He deserves it alone for his work on From the Earth to the Moon and Band of Brothers.

Unless he's retiring, no. Too premature.

Why not honor someone who's actually had a "lifetime" of achievement? It must be a popularity contest and a ratings bid -- I refuse to buy in.

I thought the same thing. "Lifetime achievement? The dude is only 45!"

If I was going to go gay, I'd probably do it over Tom Hanks, but I still won't watch.

I'll probably watch. As for Tom Hanks playing a heavy, his next performance in The Road to Perdition, might qualify.

Yeah, like I said, the pipeline looks good. Once he does it a few times, and I think he'll do it well, I'll be ready to bump him into my Top 5.

I would love to watch the show, but it is a little early. Maybe they wanted a show that would get good ratings. Maybe Tom has had so many good movies. Myabe he is just a good actore. He is one of favs of all time.
