Why was episode title 100,000 airplanes? Didn't get the reference.

You didn't hear Sam's monologue at the end? Something about during the start of WW2(?) how the US only had 10,000 airplanes but by the end or the middle of it, they had 100,000 planes. It was an analogy to the cancer cure that they wanted the president to say. He was the only one who believed that they could do it. Pardon me if that didn't make much sense. I just got into work.

I'm very bad with history but durning the WW we had a very small Airforce and the Pres at the time said we would build a certain amount in the coming 2 years and everyone laughed. Well they still laughed but it was because we more than doubled the amount. Rob Lowe did it beautifuly in his little speech to his old girlfriend.
