I just saw a Saved By The Bell episode I'd never seen!
Just when i thought i saw every episode (maybe twice it seems!) i saw one today and immediately knew i havent seen it before. it was the day before graduation and the whole school had to sing some class song that zach wrote. he goofed up everyone else's song so the group got back at him by making him drinking lemon juice!
sheer brilliance!

"Cool School" is the greatest piece of music mankind has ever produced. Dare I say, it may even be ... scrumtrilescent.
And the chess team has plenty of rooooooks ...
das
The double dates, the parties, and the dances ...
Crammin' for a midterm until 3 ...
The football games, the Max, and the romances ...
Soon, Bayside will be just a memory.

The sheer emotional power of the "Jesse gets addicted to caffeine pills" episode will never be topped. "I'm so excited, I'm so excited, I'm so....scared?" That was unquestionably the greatest scene in the history of broadcast television.

Anybody remember that spinoff (I think it was a spinoff) "California Dreams"? Hi-fookin'-larious! And the lead guitar player who was the "tough but sensitive rebel"? Damn, imagine being out-acted by your own leather jacket...

I loved California Dreams! I think constant cast changes really hurt the show...but count me as a fan. It's kind of sad as were coming to the end of the TNBC era.
They actually released an album of the music from the first season...which I bought a cassette copy of on clearance about six years ago. I have sinced hunted down the mp3's of that album.

Nothing beats the time they all worked the summer at a resort and scheduled two parties in the same night. Phew. I never thought they'd resolve that one... what a tense moment that was. Oh, and the big holes in the sand. Gosh. I nearly fell over laughing when I heard the father fall into one of them.

Re: I just saw a Saved By The Bell episode I'd never seen!
Sorry to bump this thread from the dead, but the title of it is pretty appropriate for what I'm about to post. I always knew that Saved by the Bell started as Good Morning Miss Bliss for the Disney Channel. Those episodes were repurposed and re-edited later on to make it seem that they were the Junior High years. What I didn't know till yesterday is that Good Morning Miss Bliss had a TV pilot that aired only once on NBC and wasn't included on the Saved By the Bell reruns or DVDs. The episode aired on July 11, 1987 on NBC on the Facts of Life primetime timeslot. The episode has a theme sang by Haley Mills, the principal was named Gerald Belding (portrayed by another guy, not Dennis Haskins), and instead of Mark Paul Gosselar, Dusting Diamond and Lark Voorhies, it features a very, very young Jonathan Brandis, Jaleel White and Brian Austing Green in supporting roles as the show revolved around Miss Bliss. I can see why the show was retooled as it was pretty corny, even for the time. I'm surprised that it wasn't included on the DVDs though as it would have been a pretty cool extra.

Lol....18 year thread bumps. Love it. I was never a huge SBTB watcher but I did catch a few eps where Miss Bliss was the Principal. I also remember watching a handful of eps where the gang was employed at a beach resort or something like that. Discussion of shows like SBTB always have me remembering when it was common to turn on the TV on a Saturday morning and be able to watch cartoons and shows like Saved By The Bell. There really was a time when Saturday mornings were a wonderful time to just chill out in front of the tv until your parents wanted you to get up off your butt and do something other than watch tv all day long (the equivalent of todays parents bemoaning that you spend all your time in front of "screens" and should go out and enjoy some fresh air).

Yea, those Saturday morning Engel shows were fun when I was a kid. I just sold my OOP California Dreams DVDs for a nice chunk of change.
