Wait, she was the principal? Did they bring her back later on or something? I always remembered her as a teacher.

Unfortunately, SBTB and the other Engel shows were the beginning of the end of Saturday Morning Cartoons.

Discussion of shows like SBTB always have me remembering when it was common to turn on the TV on a Saturday morning and be able to watch cartoons and shows like Saved By The Bell. There really was a time when Saturday mornings were a wonderful time to just chill out in front of the tv until your parents wanted you to get up off your butt and do something other than watch tv all day long (the equivalent of todays parents bemoaning that you spend all your time in front of "screens" and should go out and enjoy some fresh air).

I always though she was the teacher for her only season on the show and Belding was always the principal.

As for the death of the Saturday Morning Cartoons, that has more to do with the Children's Television Act more than Saved by the Bell and other similar shows.

Didn't know that California Dreams DVDs are going for so much on the secondary market now that they are OOP.

It was both. The necessity of educational TV for kids and the regulations on commercials selling to kids definitely played a huge factor. But NBC was also looking at getting cheaper programming.

Bliss was never the principal.

It was an episode where Bliss and Belding switched roles for a day.
