It's amazing what passes for drama these days...
If it's not a reality show, it's the test of "human endurance" by standing on a platform [with handles] -- then diving into a 12 foot high row of cardboard boxes.
Don't get me wrong...some of the slight of hand stuff he does is cool, but the "Scott Sapp christ ego" he's got is disturbing.

They've been advertising this as if he were jumping from a REAL building onto concrete or something. Then I turn it on, and it's from a high platform onto a pile of cardboard boxes. It looked freaky, but this isn't magic at all. He's turning into a frickin daredevil, if anything.

The handles were only there to steady himself in the case of strong winds. For the majority of his 34 hour perch, the handles were only ankle-high. Only at the end, when he prepared to jump, did they raise the handles.
Personally, I enjoy his illusions much more. Several of the ones he showed had me really gaping at the screen:
- where he took the empty (and semi-crushed) beer can from the guy, and turned it into a full beer can right before his (and our) eyes. Unless the entire thing was staged, I can't figure out for the life of me how he did that.
- where he took the cup from the hobo and turned it into cup full of change (again, right before our eyes). Truly amazing.

I think the only "trick" that needs to be explained is how he gets so many people to watch him perform.
He's not that entertaining, and not that great a "magician"
Last nights show wasn't even magic. Ohh.. so he stood on a pillar for 34 hours and jumped onto some boxes.
But people watch him and like him. More power to them. If they enjoy his stuff, thats their thing. I just don't care for him.

Then DB moves the couple down the street, forgetting the card trick he had been doing. They stop in front of a jewelry store, and he starts talking about the watches in the window. He then points out the woman's watch, then reaches through the glass (using a newspaper to cover the glass) and retrieves her watch.

I thought his past specials were better. He must be running low on tricks because this one had far fewer and even showed tricks from past specials... Some of his slight of hand and street stuff is great, but the 'bite the quarter' bit is a trick you can buy at any old magic shop.
Actually, he doesnt claim to be a magician or illusioinist or stunt daredevil. He said he just thinks of himself as an "entertainer", using all of the three combined.
I think the tower edurance stunt wasnt that neat because I think around a month ago he said he was doing it for 62 hours and much higher, but they had to change it. Originally he wanted to have a board/plank suspended over a New York street, like 30 stories up and that was going to be the endurance test.

Did anyone see him on Carson Daly's late night show? At the end of the show he, for some reason or another, stuck his fingers into his chest and pulled out his heart. He then collapsed and it went to commercial.
I laughed pretty hard. It was almost a scene out of Indiana Jones. Now if he had only done it to Carson Daly instead.

Did you see the look of absolute horror and disgust on Carson's face??
According to the NY papers, that really freaked Carson out. And what they didn't show was Blaine's "assistants" dragging his "heartless" body off the stage. It totally freaked Carson out.

actually...it is "magic". Everything he does is an illusion masked to look like an endurance stunt. FOX exposed how he did his "trapped in ice" stunt and I'm sure we will see how he did this too.
