5 years ago: ABC's 3-D Week

Remember back in early May 1997, ABC had a number of its programs with segments in 3D. You had to get the glasses from Wendy's. Do you remember that? Did you like that?

Only ones I remember seeing were Home Improvement and Spin City and I don't even remember Spin City that well. Do you think it was just a cheap gag or was it something cool, new, and different on TV?

Does anyone even remember it?

Wow, I'd forotten about that!!

Cheap gag.

I also remember MANY years ago (early nineties) when some channel aired John Wayne's Hondo in 3D. I think you got the glasses, that time, from 7-11.

I remember both of those. I also remember a Rolling Stones concert they broadcast in 3D.

This is too weird....Yesterday I just found my fox-o-rama
3-d glasses. Was going to chuck them. But maybe
3-d will make a comeback.

I remember it.

I believe around the same time Nickelodeon did something similar calling it "Noggle" vision.

I don't remember the 3-D ABC shows. Was it around the same time that NBC did the same thing? I still have the 3-D Third Rock from the Sun that I taped from about 5 years ago. Combined with the glasses, some of the segments hold up surprisingly well. Once in a while when I need a 3-D fix, I'll pull out the tape. Anyone else know any details about the ABC shows?

Was fox-o-rama the one that also had other things like scratch-n-sniff cards?

The only "3d" promo I remember was the Third Rock from the Sun musical number. I don't remember where you got the glasses, but I recall not being able to tell the difference, so I just took them off.

I remember the 3D Married with Children and other FOX (sunday?) night shows. I went to Subway for my FOX 3D glasses..this had to have been 5 or more years ago.

I'm pretty certain that yes, it was around the same time that NBC did the 3-D Third Rock episode.
