Scrubs 4/30 - St Elsewhere

As a big fan of both shows I was highly dissapointed with the cameo appearance of 4 of the cast of St Elsewhere.

I could just see NBC telling the writers , you guys will be following the Fraiser/ Cheers episode , so we are going to get some people from St Elsewhere.

I am willing to bet that the writers either never saw the show or were bitter that they had to do stunt casting. I was looking foward to some good exchanges with Ehrlich (begley jr) and Craig (Daniels). They were on for less than 5 mintues and their storyline blew. They werent even using their characters show names.

Was Denzel too busy or what?

ST ELSEWHERE is my favorite show period. i was soo looking forward to this ep. but it was soo lame.

also why was the golf cart joke funny. i don't remember the reference. could you remind me DAS? THANKS.

I didnt watch cause i was watching the spider-man show on E! but wasnt jsck klugman's appearance on CROSSING JORDAN the same. in that they jsut called him a medical examiner rather then QUINCY. i ask because that is the way the ep was advertised.

So does this mean Scrubs is the dream of an autistic boy and thus not really real?

Check the Six Degrees of St Elsewhere.

"Four doctors in here at once ... what ... was there a golf cart accident?"

The golf cart joke was funny, because doctors are known for working 2 days a week and playing golf during the other 5. So, the set of circumstances leading to 4 doctors all admitted to a hospital at the same time being a golf cart accident should be funny. Of course, it's not funny when I explain it as funny. But it was funny when he said it. It was doubly humorous because he knew it was funny and laughed at himself while the four doctors looked at him in disgust.

Yes, on Crossing Jordan, Jack Klugman was essentially the same type of character, but not Quincy. He was an M.E. who was head of the department for many years, but now was back to being a regular M.E.

For someone who watches as much tv as you do , I am surprised you found this recycled old joke funny.

What upsets me is Dr . Craig was one the best tormenting doctors portrayed to date. What should have happpen was a variation of Dr. Craig getting to the hosiptal and trying to butt heads with the head doctor on the show ( I can't remember his name.) Dr. Criag ( yes I know that wasnt the name of his character) could have told the big black nurse what shes doing wrong, she snaps back at him, hilarity ensues. Fans of both shows would love it. I could go on and on.

Instead they lay in bed for 5 minutes and have no storyline- what a waste of talent.

A) I agree with you that it was a waste. That's what I meant by "yeah." Hilarity did not ensue during this show. Fun was not had by all.

B) The joke was funny because it was recycled. J.D. thought he was so clever for making that joke, and the other doctors just groaned. How much TV I watch doesn't define my sense of humor. And it's not like it was a major laugh-out-loud moment. I was just making an off-hand comment: "yeah, I agree with you, but that one joke made me chuckle."

Whatever. If we're not allowed to post how we thought a joke in a freaking comedy about doctors was funny, then there's a serious problem on this board.

*sigh*... notice the . The smiley generally means someone is joking. That, and I wouldn't use the word "bucko" if I had my mod hat on. I probably normally wouldn't use "bucko" in any situation, but I thought it would go well with the mock-serious tone of my post. Plus, do you really think posts are evaluated with regards to what a moderator does for a living?

It. Was. A. Joke.

OK, now that all of that unpleasantness is out of the way, let's get back to Elliott in that black bra!
