My favorite has got to be "One Fish, Two Fish, Blowfish, Blue Fish".
Featuring such classic lines as: Homer: Try something new, Homer. What will it hurt you Homer? I never heard of a poison porkchop! Homer: Okay, okay, where do YOU want to go? Lisa: Anywhere but hamburgers, pizza, or fried chicken! Homer: Fine! We'll go to Mars! I've probably watched this episode 3 times since I got the Season 2 set. It's truly a classic. |
My favorite Simpsons episode of all time would be When You Dish Upon a Star. It's when Homer goes to work for Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger, its also with Ron Howard struggling to make his next movie. With hilarious results.
Runners Up are Lisa the Vegetarian, King-Size Homer, and The Springfield Files. |
My favorite is Treehouse of Horrors 4. It's the one with the gremlin on the bus, Homer sells his soul, and the Dracula parody. Season 4 and 5 were so amazing, but the Simpsons hasn't been the same since Conan left. Conan also wrote my second favorite episode, Monorail.

my favorite one was the one about the Simpsons stealing cable TV.
|
Too many favorites to just pick one. I think Homer's Enemy was absolute brilliance. I know I'm missing a whole bunch of other ones though.
|
Much Apu About Nothing where the residents of Springfield have to vote on whether or not to deport all illegal aliens.
Perfect example of The Simpsons at its peak: Perfect blend of relevant social commentary and non stop hilarity. Best. Series. Ever. |
Definitely the one where Homer buys Lisa a pony. He gets a second job at the Kwik e Mart. The best part is when he goes to bed at 7:59 lays down then gets up at 8am. Genius:)
|
My personal two favorites are "Homer at the Bat" (MLB stars play for Mr. Burns' softball team) and "The Last Temptation of Homer" (Homer is tempted by the plant's first female employee who shares his personality as voiced by Michelle Pfeiffer).
Mindy: What's wrong? Homer: Oh, yeah, like you don't know. We're gonna have sex! Mindy: Oh...well, we don't have to. Homer: Yes we do! The cookie told me so. Mindy: Well...desserts aren't always right. Homer: But they're so sweet! |
I love the one where Homer is time travelling... he keeps running up and down the stairs from the basement to see if he lives in a normal world. He finally thinks he's found it and says something like " Where's the donuts?" Marge looks at him strangely and asks, "What's a donut?" Homer yelps and runs back downstairs to quantum leap again. Then it cuts away to the window where it's raining donuts and Marge says "Oh look, its raining again..."
That is the best! :D |
Sorry, but I have a new favorite episode, 22 short films about springfieldians. The comparison between a Mcdonalds Quarter Pounder With Cheese, and a Krusty Burger With Cheese is a riot and f**king hillarious, (my brother originally thought the joke was original, before I told him), also in the same episode (next scene even) when guy with the mullet (sorry I forgot his name), runs over Chief Wiggum.

You Only Move Twice
The PTA Disbands, simply for the following dialogue: Marge: I'm worried about the kids, Homey. Lisa's becoming very obsessive. This morning I caught her trying to dissect her own raincoat. Homer: [scoffs] I know. And this perpetual motion machine she made today is a joke! It just keeps going faster and faster. Marge: And Bart isn't doing very well either. He needs boundaries and structure. There's something about flying a kite at night that's so unwholesome. [looks out window] Bart: [creepy voice] Hello, Mother dear. Marge: [closing the curtains] That's it: we have to get them back to school. Homer: I'm with you, Marge. Lisa! Get in here. [Lisa walks in, chuckling nervously] In this house, we obey the laws of thermodynamics! |
The Mysterious Voyage of Homer.
Johhny Cash as the coyote spirit guide. "Find your soulmate Homer" Simply poignant. |
Nope....I gotta change my #1 to "Brother's Little Helper". By far the best chalkboard gag...."Pork is not a Verb". (although last week's "Spongebob is not a contraceptive" still gives me shivers)
Talk about social commentary....the drug "Focusyn" reduces 'class-clownism 44% with 60% less sass mouth. The only thing more effective is regular exercise." CLASSIC! |
The muumuu Homer episode.
|
The one were Milhouse becomes radioactive boy has always been my favorite, sorry I don't know the names of the episodes.
Also any of their hippie parodies are hilarious. |
This is the greatest thread ever... It's taken me over an hour to read it because I've been laughing so hard.
My two favorites have to be "Deep Space Homer" and "Cape Feare", but there are so many great ones it almost impossible to narrow it down at all. |
Some of my favorites
Lisa the Greek Homer vs Lisa and the 8th commandment Boy Scoutz n' the Hood One Fish, Two Fish, Blow Fish, Blue Fish 22 Short Films about Springfield Bart the General Ahh to hell with it...Their all my favorites.:) Except the ones from the last 3-4 seasons. |
Does anyone like the episode where Homer is accused of sexual harrasment? Episode called Homer Badman. I haven't seen it in years but I like that one a lot.
|
Lisa's Substitute is my favorite episode ever.
Other great episodes are: Homer at the Bat, Bart the Murderer, Last Exit to Springfield, Radio Bart, Homer the Heretic, Lisa the Vegetarian, Summer of 4 ft. 2, One Fish Two Fish Blowfish Blue Fish, and Lisa's Wedding. |
