I want to give some props to BoatDrinks, who posted the following back in March:

Great series. I caught the entire first season when they did the repeat that ended a month or so ago. I recommend anybody who likes police dramas to check out the marathon.

New season in January. I'll definitely be tuning in.

Chiklis was all choked up and it was so nice for him, seeing him on extra when he was nominated was cool too.

I thought that it is a great show. I love Chiklis' character, and even the rest of his gang, but the lead male detective I don't really like...

Dutch boy, come on he's fodder for the team, he's not bad, but could be worse.

Yeah, I think Dutch is great. They really developed his character as the season progressed...especially the serial killer episodes.

Aside from my tense confusion a couple of posts above, I've been along the whole time. Of course, there is a timing issue of when it airs (oops.....aired) in Canada,

I've been trying to get my friends into this show for years. To me, it was without question the most consistently high quality show on TV since it was launched.

That was how I always saw it, but there was a dispute on page one that I thought was kind of funny.

I think they explicitly say who did it in the DVD commentary, but I don't remember who it was.

I'm a regular--in fact I my comment from 2002 is the third or fourth in this thread.

I did stop watching early on, but I came back on board through the DVD's and Internet. I am so glad I did. This was a hell of a show.

This will probably rank as my favorite cable show of all time. I watched Sseasons 1-4 via Dvd, 5-7 live on FX.

And Claudette left the crap for Dutch.

I may give it one more try, but it sure as hell was no Homicide.
Well, I ended up doing an about-face somewhere in the middle of the first season. And after that I was in love with the show. Though it's still no Homicide...

I figured this was a long lost thread brought back from the dead. It was funny to read some comments from the pilot.

More than 6 and a half years later, I'm very happy I stuck with the show!

Jeez, I've been here a long time.

Honk!
