An uneven episode, but still compelling.
My mouth was agaped when Chloe fell, and Clark didn't save her. I was really surprised.
The "walk-thru-walls" super power from the krytonite tattoo ink was pretty strange and flimsy (I never did understand why people who walked through walks are able to maintain their position on the surface of the earth - why don't they sink through? How do they propel themselves through stuff if they don't have traction?) Anyhow, goofy super power and all, I enjoyed the characterizations, the bonding, the growth in Lana (how she didn't give up on her dream once she figured out how to "reach" Lex, though at the end, she got that look as if she just made a bargain with the devil.
Overall, I enjoyed the episode.

that guy left his arm behind
yeah they should fall through the ground, unless they can somehow make the very bottom of their feet semi-"go through walls"
it's like the STTNG episode "the next phase"
what exactly was lex building? a friend came over and I missed about 10 minutes in the middle. something with a particle accelerator?

This episode wasn't as good as the last new episode, but I was still entertained.
The evil in Lex has started to come out. What's this particle accelerator going to be used for? I bet we will find out at the end of the season.

The episode wasn't bad but everytime I saw Lex, I just kept thinking of that new movie that's coming out with him dressed as a girl.

This was actually my least favorite episode of the season. Did anyone else think the whole bad guy plot line was very Lost Boys-esque. I even thought some of the lines were exactly the same as the movie, & him wearing the sunglassed the next day(although obviously for different reasons) just cemented the similarity(sp?)

Weird- that STTNG episode was on just after Smallville on Tuesday, on TNN (I think that was the network). Funny that you mention it.
As for the episode, I actually enjoyed it a lot. I thought it was nice to give Whitney a little more screen time, he's been pushed into the background these past couple of episodes. Clark's character has continued to grow, and the acting is steadily improving. The only part of this episode I didn't really care for was Lana's storyline- it was nice to see her fighting (some character development), but I think it slowed down the pace a bit. But on a whole, pretty entertaining stuff. They continue to impress me with interesting visuals, mostly cool perspectives (the shot passing through the wall layer by layer), and surprisingly good graphics for a weekly TV show. Good stuff.

Is it me or is Whitney always being a whiney boyfriend with problems? I'd like to see something different going on with him other than these continual tragedies (my Dad is dying, I lost my scholorship, etc.). blah.
More Lana please...
