Anyone Remember These Shows?
Does anyone remember any of these great shows: 'Misfits of Science', 'Automan', and Disney's 'The 100 Lives of Black Jack Savage'?
I was a huge fan of 'Misfits of Science', I had to go to a friend's house to watch it, since my parents didn't let us have a TV when I was growing up. 'Misfits' was about a research institute that had a group of super-powered people helping to stop criminals, etc.
'Automan' was about a police officer that created a partner on the computer. The creation was Automan, and he was able to digitally synthesize a car that could make 90 degree turns, as well as many other objects.
Disney's 'The 100 Lives of Black Jack Savage' was a great show, with a millionaire swindler forced to live in a haunted castle with the ghost of a pirate, and they both had to do penance by saving peoples lives.

I had very fond memories of Misfits of Science until I caught an ep on Sci Fi a few weeks ago. Very silly (unintentionally) and pretty obvious why it was cancelled. Though I did like it a LOT when it was first on.

I actually looked "Automan" up on the IMDB a while back, because nobody else seemed to remember it. Thought I hallucinated the whole thing.

There was a show called Other World, I think, about a family that gets sucked into another dimension and tries to find their way home. I loved it when it was on and didn't remember how long it ran. Sci Fi aired the entire run a while ago and I think it was only six episodes! It was noticeably cheesy.
Oh, wasn't Courntney Cox in Misfits of Science? I do remember Automan as well, but not the other show.

I dug Automan back when it aired and I saw every episode but it died a quick death.
I had no idea it aired on Sci-Fi, too bad I missed it. I also saw that Sci-Fi has also aired Buck Rogers in the 25th Century which is another favorite of mine.

I used to make fun of my sister when I would drive in the car with her because she took very abrupt turns.
I'd call her Automan and "throw" myself against the car window in an exaggerated manner when she took a turn.
Of course, this was like 15 years ago, but the show Automan brings up the memory.

I remember Automan, too. It aired in 1983 on ABC, and had some "Tron"-like visuals. I also remember the short live Manimal, where the hero could transform himself into any animal to save the day. I think both were Glen Larson productions?
My favorite show from that time period was "Lottery," but it got cancelled pretty quickly.

As soon as I saw the title of this thread, the first thought that leaped to mind was "Automan". Great little show, considering I was about 10 at the time. I always wanted a little friend like "Cursor".

Yes I remember Automan, and the 'cursor' that drew all his vehicles and such (car and helicopter is all I can remember). Reminds me of the debates I had with my friends on which was faster, KITT or the Automan car.

I used to love Misfits of Science when I was a kid There was also that short lived show "the Highwayman" which had those semi trucks that had helicopers and stuff coming out of the back.
Man that was pure gold for a kid around age 10
Oh ya, The Highwayman is another tv show on Rob Bowman's Resume

On the Automan tip... I loved his sidekick Cursor!
Then we also have to mention Sledge Hammer, Happily Ever After, Street Hawk and Manimal!
