My vote is that Lindsey will be the Playboy girl....she was freekin nekkid (hee, hee) in her contestant video...boo-ya

BTW...doesn't Lindsey look like she got a little facial touch-up nose, eyes, something

Then Brandon asks the question. Ethan, correctly, busts on Brandon, because he knows Brandon is voting for Kim anyway. Brandon then claims that he was going to vote for Ethan until Ethan busted on him. If that's true, what was Brandon saying in his confessional? Brandon tried to make Ethan look stupid, but the true moron is Brandon. What an unctuous character.

Did he say it was a him ? I must have missed that.
What did Brandon have against Ethan anyway?

I missed that two. I thought he said one of them. What did he have against Ethan? He probably expected him to be a different kind of professional soccer player .

Uh-oh. I was listening at low volume and watching the closed captions (have to let baby sleep!). The captions said "Him". I still refuse to let go of my fit of pique.

He said "that person" and used improper pronoun-age of "them" every time.

He kept saying "I've wanted to vote for this person, because they pissed me off." That kind of stuff.

Funny that the CC would list it as "him."

How close to "real time" were the CC? To me, that raises real questions about whether it was "live" or "previously recorded"

Well, he made all those comments that I heard before the "live" show.

Kelly was great last night. Why the heck didn't Ethan say '4' after Kim said '3.' At least he still came closest.

I can't remember exactly. I believe the captions were in-sync through the question phase, and the voting as well. During the vote announcement I wasn't paying attention to the captions. The Gumbel part was definitely out of sync; at least two or three lines behind.

Is the consensus that the voting took place in Africa, and the tallying/announcement took place on the set? It was very cleverly done; when I first heard the cheers I thought "What, they got locals to come watch this thing?"

Yeah. Just that last commercial break. Probst said something like, "I'm going to go tally the vote for one last time," and then they went to commercial. When they came back the jury looked strange to me, especially Kim and Kelly (yeah, I was watching them intently ), so I figured what was going on, but it was VERY well done and infinitely better than the total lamefest that was last year's helicopter nonsense.

It's more like what Ethan had against Brandon. It seemed that Ethan wasn't all that crazy about Brandon being a flamboyant homosexual.

I agree that this was much better than the whole helicopter fiasco last year...

I actually was tipped off by Mama Kim...her skin seemed smoother and not as much like tanned leather.

My question is this: Bryant/Ethan said that they had been home for 3 months before the final vote was revealed...did Ethan not shave for all that time while he was at home?!?!? He was clean shaven this morning.

Actually, I would expect to see her on the cover of Psychology Today. What a freakin' nutjob; that Graduate dialog in the confessional was as loud a cry for help as I have ever heard. I really wish Bryant would have talked to her more at the reunion show, just to see how crazy and bitter she really was.
I respected Ethan for not picking "4" as his number, that would have seemed cheap. He gave MK a fighting chance (as stupid as the whole thing was).

Of course Ethan should have said 4 after Kim's 3. But wasn't Kim also stupid? Shouldn't she have said 500 to give herself at least a 50-50 chance (the best she could do under the circumstances going first [BTW, did she have to go first or did she just blurt it out? I'd have to watch it again])? Then Ethan should have said 501 or 499.

(If anyone else pointed this out, sorry. I didn't read the entire thread.)

I read somewhere today (pretty sure it was usatoday.com) that CBS called Ethan 39 days ago and had him start growing the beard again at that point.

My wife kept yelling, "that's not the same night!" I didn't notice it, but I was trying to listen to what was being said and she kept yelling it.

I think you're assuming a lot here. Brandon didn't seem to do anything at all around camp and was a liability in the team challenges . Perhaps Ethan said taht Brandon didn't deserve to be there because he DIDN'T deserve to be there. I don't think it had anything to do with him being gay. It had to do with him being a a total liability to the group.

About Brandon's gayness....

I may have missed two episodes (around the switch time), but I don't remember any mention of Brandon being gay by him or anyone else on that show (and I was shocked to find out that he was) Seriously, I wonder if that was intentional editing. Frank and Tom were always talking to the camera about how much they hated him, but no one was saying the "g" or "h" words. Neither man strikes me as someone who is afraid to come off as politically incorrect, so I assume it must be due to some fancy editing in order to prevent another Rudy-like backlash.
But if Brandon thought he was doing the gay community a great service by appearing on Survivor, he may have been mistaken.

If I recall, it was maybe around the 4th or 5th episode. Everyone knew he was gay, but they never said it. And sometime during one of the personal interviews where they talk directly to the camera, he said something like, "we don't get along to well, but I don't think he knows too many gay people." I remember I was curious if he was gay at the time, so the comment stuck in my mind. I think they probably said it outright a few more times, but they never made a big deal about it.

Several things (now after finally getting to watch the tape):

About it being "Live" for the West Coast it said on the lower left hand corner "Recorded earlier" right after they came back from commercial break for the start of the 3rd hour.

About knowing the final tally of the vote being in the studio, for me anyway, I knew it was in the studio because of the "Recorded earlier" message and that Kim J.'s skin not only looked less "leathery" as mentioned above but also that her head was now porportional to her body. Too weird, just like how last season Colby gained like 50 pounds after the helicopter landed!

Lastly, Brandon was trying to not let on about who he was talking about in his "confessional" but his use of words were (*edit* due to further review)--"I don't like one of the people up there" then "I'll get to vote against them" then "but for anyone who can make it 39 days out there you gotta give him credit, you gotta give'em credit." This was from listening, not from captions (which i didn't even know they had )

Congratulations Ethan.

Think they'll ever have "Survivor: All Stars" where past winners compete against each other?

I doubt the winners will come back to play the game again. They may have a close-losers All Stars. Like the F4 from each survivors (besides the winner). That would be interesting. Because they will basically know each other already.
