Simpsons or Sopranos?

Probably the 2 greatest shows of all time. But is one better than the other? Or can they even be compared?

They can't be compared, IMO.

Neither show would make my top 20 of all time. But if I had to choose between the two, I guess the Simpsons.

these two shows aren't even in the same league....... 12+ years of great comedy vs. 3 years of semi-mediocre drama.........hmmmm, tough choice

I'll take the Simpsons anyday. As I don't have HBO, I've only seen a handful of Sopranos episodes and never thought much of it. As far was dramas go, I'd much rather watch ER, The X-Files, or Picket Fences.

I would have picked Simpsons if it ended 3 years ago.

Sopranos...easy. Simpons are ok, never go into it much though.

Homer: "Fat Tony! Shame on you!"

Seriously though - aside from being TV shows, why would you even both comparing these as one better than the other. [Jesse Jackson]The question is MOOT![/Jesse Jackson]

Haven't seen the Sopranos enough to form an opinion. Haven't watched the Simpsons much in the last few years.

I wanted to vote for apples, but it's not on the list.

Two of my Top 20. But neither made my Top 5 in the thread we did a while back. The Simpsons would probably fall in a Top 10, but it would be close. There's a lot more TV than this last decade. The Sopranos, while I love it, would probably not make a Top 10, but likely a Top 20.

das

P.S. Welcome to the Forum

P.P.S. Beware of my new poll: The White Shadow or South Park.

At its height (seasons 3-4), I'll take the Simpsons. If we are talking about which one is better now - Sopranos - not even close. The Simpsons is just not good anymore and it hasn't been since season 8.

Well Slug, I remember when I used to laugh at alomst every joke.

Now it seems like every 3rd joke.

Some people seem to think it's not been good in five years, and certainly, it's not been AS good, but up until season 10 they did alright. I mean, that one where the visit Japan was good, but soon after that I stopped watching altogether.

I can't choose between one or the other. I love both shows. But, I will vote for The Simpsons only because I've been watching it alot longer.

I'll give the Sopranos about maybe two seasons before they lose Gandolphini.

Which is good, because I don't think anyone (mainly the writer of the show) wants it to go any longer than that. I think it was supposed to be 4 seasons only, and they finally got him to sign up for 1 more.

Sopranos will have a definite conclusion, and I think it has 2 seasons to go.

That's what I love about HBO. They do things right and don't let them run themselves into the ground.

No matter what you compare to the Simpsons, it would lose. Next! (followed by my sig)
