The Lost World TV Series

Just saw this aired on Australian TV last night. Titled 'Sir Arthur Conan Doyles: The Lost World'.
It seems like one of the worst spin off franchises I've ever seen. There's this lost Amazon Woman in it, the usual scientists and hunters from the movies, and lost civilisations, badly done CGI dinos, and last night I saw ape men trying to kidnap the women. It looks like an Australian production, with a lot of Australian actors, and the film didn't have that softish look that you get when you convert NSTC to PAL.

Overall, I'm pretty annoyed that they could let things get this far with the story.

P.S. It's been in syndication here in the US for at least 2 years.

Of course, hot chicks (and guys, to be fair) are the main reason that MOST of those type shows exist! Especially those made in Australia and New Zealand.

For it's genre (bad sci fi/adventure shows that are put on as filler on saturday afternoons!) it's not so bad.

Surely you know that this show has nothing to do with a certain movie by Steven Spielberg? Words 'spin-off' and 'franchise' made me a little suspicious, though

is this the same one made by the BBC starring Bob Hoskins as Challenger; James Fox as Summerlee; Peter 'Columbo' Falk as the preacher and featuring the gorgeous 'Elaine Cassidy'? i quite liked that version, which was just shown over here in the UK on Xmas day.

No, I don't think so Fur... this is an ongoing tv show and not just based on the book... I've only seen it like once.. but it's basically a filler show to put on saturday afternoons where there's not much watching going on and if it is, it's by bored people who don't have a real care on what they watch.

And it has nothing to do with the Jurassic Park seqeul, which I am alone in the world in thinking is excellent...
