Snl 12/15

I enjoyed the Snowman cartoon and Weekend Update the most. Ellen's bits were ok, but not that great.

Thoughts?

The only thing I liked was the Robert Smigel cartoon. Everything else was suck. Well the Ferrell/Ellen skit where they thought they left everything on was kinda funny.

I thought last nights SNL was the weakest in a long time. I thought the Rudolph sketch would be funny because I'd just watched Rudolph earlier in the day, but the skit was a total let down. Lame spoof. The only thing that made me laugh was the Dick Chaney snow globe sketch, which is arguably the lamest skit of the night. Just something about those 4 playing their instruments that cracked me up.

I agree that this was the worst episode of the season. I was really surprised, since Ellen was so incredible at The Emmys. I was happy to hear her take that shot at Anne Heche in her monologue ... that was funny. And the Frosty the Snowman sketch was pretty darn good ... I'm glad they finally said something about all the self-important grandstanding celebrities have done the past three months. And Weekend Update was good as usual. But that's about it. Still, they saved the episode with a closing number from our favorite Christmas singers. I can't get enough of that sketch. I don't know why.

P.S. I've never once found Mango funny.

I hate mango, he's as bad as most of Molly Shannon's repeat characters
I liked the episode overall though
the bin laden tape was hilarious

The only time I've ever laughed at a Mango skit was when Matt Damon starred and acted like Ben Afflek (with Talented Mr. Ripley hints).

Wasn't it Ben acting as Matt?

Well the first one was Ben acting as Matt, then the second one was just Matt as himself.

My favorite Mango was with Garth Brooks (that was a great episode all-around).

Last night was the first SNL I've seen in awhile....

The best part was definitely the Robert Smigel cartoon....and it was cool to see Rudy Giuliani at the end of Weekend Update.

Last Saturday's episode was hilarious

at least, No Doubt's new musical direction was. Jeez, were they awful or what?
