It's ok unless you live in Alabama, Mississippi, or Louisiana; then it's illegal and the cops will come and arrest you.
I personally love the show and have watched every episode from the very first, and last time I checked I was a guy.
PS- No offense to the people of Alabama and Mississippi (now Louisiana is another story).

Lorelai Gilmore: "Why are you wearing that outfit?"
Rory Gilmore: "It's a long story."
Lorelai Gilmore: "Does it start with you getting hit in the head?"

of course it is okay. I mean c'mon who are you trying to prove it too.
I wouldn't go blabbering around the office/school that you watch them, and have a website. Unless they are mature pics of the mother (lorelai)
It is a good show, and one of those shows, if you have children you know you don't have to wonder if this going to be sensitive material.
I like the show, and so does my fiancee, but for some reason I think it collides with another good sci-fi show or something. That is why I haven't watched it in a long time.

Now that the summer is here, I'm getting into most of the WB lineup of shows, and I'm really enjoying Gilmore Girls now (during the regular season, I only have 2 VCRs, and they are used to tape Survivor and Friends/whatever), so I missed out on the original run of Gilmore Girls.

My goodness I hate that show (no offense). I feel its void of any real emotion/chemistry, the writing is horrid, and I feel like I'm watching some crappy play. On the other hand, my friend is in it, so I have to watch occassionally to see if he's on. By the way he's the clean cut Asian guy who's the potential love interest for the Asian girl on the show.

Resurrecting this thread to add that I'm also really enjoying the reruns of this show. The last 2-3 weeks have been especially good - the storyline of Rory's first kiss and boyfriend was great, with nice drama (like the dance and staying out all night) and truly funny comedy (the whole Donna Reed stuff).
It's obvious there's a lot of thought going into the writing of this show - they're creating an alternate universe full of complex relationships. I love the parallels between Lorelai's relationship with her daughter and her relationship with her parents. I thought it was brilliant how Lorelai defended Rory to her mother even though she was upset at Rory, and then later her father did exactly the same thing, defending her against her former boyfriend's dad despite her immature behavior. Great stuff.
Lauren Graham as Lorelai is pretty easy on the eyes, too.
It's a truly great show, in the tradition of Northern Exposure but not nearly as annoyingly quirky. And of course it's now on 2 nights per week (Tues & Thurs at 8) until the new season, when it moves to Tues. permanently - a much better time slot. I know I'll be a regular viewer.

I'm a fan and I've seen most of the shows, even though it was difficult to switch back and forth in between Survivor and Friends. And I still enjoy the reruns. It's such a great show, and it should have been nominated for Emmys, which it didn't. I think.
This season will be difficult to watch too, because now I have to watch "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", "Gilmore Girls", and maybe "Dharma and Greg" all the same time. I wish I had a Tivo.

I love this show! I've been watching the re-runs during this summer, and it's one of the few shows that I'll watch more than once (I tape them and time-shift my viewing).
The characters are great, and Lorelai is such a MILF!

UUUGGGGHHHH!!! I had a long reply, but lost it all.
Basically the show centers around a single mother, Lorelai Gilmore, and her daughter, Rory. Lorelai had Rory when she got pregnant in high school, and she's very sensitive to that reality now that Rory has reached her 15th birthday (Lorelai is around 32 years of chronological age).
Their mother-daughter banter is pretty entertaining, and shows the deep rooted strong relationship of a single mom and her daughter.
The supporting cast includes:
Her parents who are pretty well-to-do. In a loan from her parents that stipulated that Lorelai and Rory would show up for Friday night dinner with them, her parents are footing the bill for Rory to go to a private school named Chilton. It requires Rory to take a long bus ride to go to school, but Rory wants to go to Harvard, and this is her best shot to get into Harvard. The Friday night dinner scenes are pretty funny because Lorelai has this rapier wit and gives her mom flack for lots of stuff (all in fun). Mom and Lorelai don't express their love for each other affectionately, but they do love one another, though there is a streak of regret in mom (because Lorelai got knocked up at such a young age, and felt that she didn't get to do the things normal young women did, plus the scandal unwed mother angle never sat well with her). Her father works in the insurance business, and is kind, but could be seen as a little stuff at time.
Lane is Rory's best friend (they met at high school, but don't see one another because Rory now goes to Chilton while Lane goes to the local high school). Lane has this really strict Korean mom, and is always trying to set Lane up with sons of other Korean families. Lane is very cute and sweet.
Dean was Rory's boyfriend for 3 months. He was her 1st true boyfriend. On their 3-month anniversary date, Dean professed his love for Rory, but Rory freaked and froze up and couldn't reciprocate the words, so they broke up. For a long time, everyone thought that Dean broke up with Rory, but it was the other way around. Lorelai found this out when he saw Dean at his afternoon job in the grocery store, and she was telling Dean off, but Dean straightened her out, much to Lorelai's chagrin and misdirected anger. This led to Lorelai talking with Rory about how she doesn't want Rory to grow up with messed up relationships with guys because Rory is special and doesn't have to follow Lorelai's path.
Max is Lorelai's on-again/off-again love interest. Max is also Rory's English teacher. This first caused complications with Max's capacity as a teacher at Chilton, so he broke off the relationship with Lorelai. After Rory broke up with Dean, Lorelai sought out Max, trying to come to grips with her own longings for a relationship. After tearing each other's clothes off and making mad monkey love, they decided to try and establish a phone relationship, and take things slower this time. They didn't tell anyone that they hooked up again, and it wasn't until Lorelai confronted Dean about Rory that she had to tell Rory that she was seeing Max again (partly due to her needing to set some sort of example to Rory before she could dispense relationship advice to Rory).
Luke runs a coffee diner in Stars Hollow. Both Rory and Lorelai are coffee addicts. He and Lorelai have this undercurrent of sexual tension, but neither one will admit to it (but everyone sees it). Luke is the one that Lorelai calls when she needs a man's help. They do support one another emotionally. When Lorelai's father passout at home, Luke was the one that Lorelai called to help her out and calm her down. Luke's girlfriend got back into town recently (she's a travelling photo-journalist with wanderlust in her heart). She also wonders what's really up with Luke and Lorelai. Even Lorelai's mom has called her on her relationship with Luke, but Lorelai is keeping it platonic for now. Luke and Lorelai do have a good rapport with one another, and their banter is also fun to watch.
Suki is the chef where Lorelai works (running the Independence Inn). She's her best friend, and she's very sweet. She finally got a boyfriend (Jackson) who was the produce man that came around everyday with fresh produce for Suki to pick from.
Sally Struthers plays the next door neighbor with the house that's suited for her shortness (everything is lower to the ground).
Rory had a rocky start with her current set of friends at Chilton. The main one is Paris, the valedictorian-to-be, who sees Rory as her main threat. And Paris has these 2 other girls who hangs with her, but they are more like party girls. There's this guy whose name I forget, but he's got the hots for Rory, and at a party where both Rory and this guy had lost their respective SO's, they shared an awkward kiss, which caused Rory to run out of the party. But they managed to get through that. Rory even got the guy to ask out Paris on a date (but he wasn't enamored with her, and just wanted to be friends - after finding out that Rory put him up to the idea, Paris got really mad at Rory).
All in all, each episode has been fast-moving and entertaining. I give it my highest recommendation.
