What's the backstory on the Tick?
I've seen and enjoyed the show. But I missed the first episode so I missed the basic premise. From tonights episode "The License" I'm guessing I'm not the only ne in the dark.

In the season opener, he first appeared at a bus depot, protecting people from the candy machines and so on. One of them 'arranged' for him to find a ticket to the city.
