Different people have different standards of what's offensive. You call jokes about pot "inoffensive" while I don't like them. So, whatever.

Making jokes about marijuana isn't really bad because it's not a destructive drug. Cocaine is another matter entirely. This show is supposed to be a sitcom in the same vein as That 70's Show and I don't see how you can make light of snorting coke.

While I Agree that tor disagrees with everything I must say that the way they get away with the pot reference in that 70's show is they are (from my memory) never actually smoking it infront of the camera) they are always in the circle going around from the after effects.

Now for the coke reference.. that is a very risky step. because what can you actually say they were doing other then sniffing coke? with the group you could say they were just doing something else and it just refers to the pot/smoking

in either case its a odd middle ground

do they actually show a guy sniffing a huge rail, or is it just implied? coke was a big part of the 80's and i don't really see any problem making a joke out of it. some people choose to turn a blind eye to the fact that drugs are a part of our world and will continue to be. with all the blood, guns and violence on tv, a few jokes about coke seem pretty mild to me. if anything, they'll let kids know that doing a lot of coke will make you act stupid and get bloody noses, so where's the harm in that?

in any case, this show looks pretty bad. that 70's show was funny because it didn't seem forced. the 80's show looks like they're trying a little too hard.

If there are drugs, adults rather than kids should be the ones using them on the show. And no, I don't advocate pot or coke.

I've finally seen a few ads for this new show, and I think it looks funny. The dynasty shots especially cracked me up. Oh, and the madonna dancing. Looking forward to it starting.

Dumb as hell. The '80s weren't particularly cool when I was living in them, the last thing I want to do is watch some crappy sitcom that emphasizes it.

i think the reason this show doesn't seem great is because the promo doesn't show any funny well-thought-out jokes. they just seem stupid.

This sounds like a great premise. I know I'll tune in.
