Finally saw this episode. I know, I know, I am three years late....
Loved it, although I can't really say much that hasn't been said here.
Just want to mention, I am slowly moving thru the Buffy/Angel DVD sets. What great TV!
And can I just say that, how lucky are we to live in a time where there is so much great TV on DVD! I would have never have enjoyed such excellent television otherwise!
And thank you to TV talk, you have alway been there for me!
And thank you das monkey, you are the shit!
That's all!

Question, I missed the opening (my tape starts with Buffy's song in the graveyard, forget the name) I noticed when that song is done, they mention that there were others singing about stuff like Math for instance. Do we actually see that, or is Buffy's song the first?
Yep, Buffy's song is first.

There are a number of songs mentioned in the episode that weren't shown: Dawn's "Math" song during school, Giles' song in his hotel while he was playing guitar, Willow and Tara's couscous song, and Xander and Anya's coconut song.

HOWEVER, there's a flashback during the season seven episode "Selfless" that flashes back to musical that includes a complete Anya song called "Mrs." as well as a set-up for the "Mustard" song.

There were also rumors that the seventh season would have another flashback to the musical with the Geek Trio doing a boy band thing. If this happened, it probably would've been in "Storyteller."

ok, i was watching this on Logo a few nights ago (friend texted me that it was on, watched the last 20 min or so), anyways, did Gellar use auto tune for her voice? Her's is the only voice that doesn't really sound "right" Listen to her rock number torwards the end of the episode

I remember Geller saying she did her own signing after almost having someone else do it.

She did do a lot of her own signing but a lot of the songs were VERY digitally altered and there are some stand-in voices in various segments.

That makes sense. She probably didn't want to do it until she was assured that her voice would sound ok. They definitely did some correction to her voice. At the time the extent that her voice was altered was probably considered very subtle. She's the only one that I remember sounding unnatural in the musical.
