Doing a little rumination, I can't help but feel that Buffy is just on idle right now. Where is this show going? It seems that inevitable that Giles and Tara will be gone and there will be some form of showdown between Buffy and Willow. But where is this show going?

1. Buffy tries playing mom to Dawn. Buffy's dad finds out about Joyce's death...
2. Buffy and Spike have a go at it, but I feel it's doomed from the start.
3. Xander and Anya's marriage (maybe at the end of the season?)
4. Giles finally says his goodbyes, mainly the goodbyes he didn't get to say to Buffy.
5. Tara will be ripped from Willow, perhaps providing the push to the dark side for Willow.

My guess? The big bad is going to be Amy, the witch that Willow turned into a rat in the 2nd season. The producer( David Greenwalt) said in an interview that Amy was going ot be deratted by Willow. Now, if you were turned into a rat for five years, wouldn't you be pissed? And I read that even Willow is in awe of the power Amy possesses. What do you guys think? COuld it be Amy vs. Willow and the Scoobs? Or some variation therein? Talk, people!!

Re: Buffy the CD

Why would there be right disputes. Doesn't Wheddon and co. own the music, lyrics and performances?

But here's what will happen ... I'm certain of it.

Spoiler:
Amy escapes from her cage to the sewers of Sunnydale where she encounters some strange ooze. Over time she evolves into a Shaolin master and becomes the Big Bad for the season. Meanwhile Tara is having trouble sleeping, so Willow goes to the store to buy some pixie dust. While she's there, she picks up rat poison to kill Amy. Dawn, while being her typical nosey self looking for magic books, knocks over some stuff on Willows dresser and frantically picks everything and tries to replace it. That evening, Willow sprinkles the pixie dust on Tara while she's asleep so she has a pleasant evening. Minutes later, an oversized ninja Amy breaks into Willow's bedroom. Tara doesn't awaken ... strong pixie dust ... and Willow hurls the rat poison at Amy. Amy spins around in a psychadelic haze and crashes to the ground. Willow tries frantically to awaken Tara so they can get out and go get help, but Tara won't wake up ... she's dead. At that moment, Dawn bursts in, surveys the sitation, places her palms on her cheecks a la 'Home Alone' and cries, "how was I supposed to know what would happen?" ... and scene.

Like I said, do not give me a pen and paper :)

That was 5 years ago. Willow has changed a lot since then ;)

Yeah, but try as she might, Willow still sucks at nibbling through rope and running on treadmills.

Willow is an innocent. The concept being explored here is "absolute power corrupts absolutely.” The consequences of this are what we have yet to see, but there is obviously a buildup leading to a “good vs. evil” thing. Lots of good ideas being put out here, but I think most of us will agree that the showdown will be primarily Tara vs. Willow. And I think that Tara is expendable.

Of course, it could be bunnies vs. Willow... :D

You know, rats only live 2-3 years; wouldn't she be really old when they turn her back?

I thought that the musical episode was great; but apparently I'm running a distant second behind my husband who has re-watched this ep 5 or 6 times already. :) This season has been really strong in terms of character devlopment & I really hope that this continues. Even though I am looking forward to see what happens with the Willow thing, I am anticipating seeing what exactly they do with Dawns character. I hope they lighten up or actually have some sort of showdown between her and Buffy soon.

My favorite line from the musical had to be "So Dawn's in trouble; must be Tuesday." :)

pelenor 11-12-01 03:46 PM

Yeah, it may have been five years, but if you remember the episodes she was in ( the episode where Xander casts a spell to make Cordy love him again and it backfires and has EVERY Female love him), she was pretty strong at the time. She had that whole "Black eyes" that Willow had when she went against Glory. It's all speculation, of course, but I think there's a strong possibilty of something along those lines happening.

I thought I caught all the season 2 episodes on FX. When did this happen? I remember buffy being turned into a rat, but don't recall any other rat-related activity.

EDIT: Never mind, I think my questions have been answered by today's FX (season 3) episode. Assuming Amy doesn't come back and is then turned into a rat again...

Screen shot, anyone?

I'm looking for a couple of pics of the Buffy/Spike kiss, anyone have them by chance? Most sites on the web haven't been updated with any:(

Thanks!

I was watching my lovely SVCD for this episode and I was listening to the woman's song about her parking ticket and it goes on for a while after it sounds like she fades out. So anyway the lyrics killed me..I wrote them down...

Come on, wont you put that pad away.

I'm asking you please no,
it isn't right it isn't fair.
There was no parking anywhere,
I think that hydrant wasn't there.

Why can't you let it go,
I think I've paid more than my share.
I'm a poor girl don't you care?
See I'm not wearing underwear.

It's the simple things that please me.

I grabbed the Cooki3 version off of a.b.m.buffy-v-slayer. Its a great version with menus and stuff and pretty damn good quality. They also put 4 behind the scenes snipets on there of the gang in the studio recording the songs.

I will check the crdetis...thanks.

Did you guys know that the lady singing about the parking ticket was in fact executive producer Marti Noxon? And that guy singing about the mustard was another of the producers? (David Greenwalt, I think.)

They just showed this episode last night on reruns, and Amy turned herself into a rat, not Willow. Willow just can't figure out how to change her back.

Any more news on an official soundtrack release?

Rypro 525 03-20-03 07:35 PM

Sorry for the timing and I know this thread is almost 2 years old, but I just saw this episode for the first time tonight. My favorite song was "Where do we go from here" aka the song when SMG dances along to hard rock music, then goes to pop ballad with the devil guy. this is defently a classic episode that everyone Buffy fan or just a fan of musicals should check out if they haven't already. It comes on tomorrow at 7 am et. Also what was the oar for this episode? It looked like it was maybe 2:0:1 widescreen.

Dr. DVD 03-20-03 07:49 PM

Talk about the thread that time forgot.

Rypro 525 03-20-03 09:32 PM

Are there any edits to the soundtrack, and what was the aspect ratio for this since I couldn't tell.

The soundtrack is available on CD and is not edited.
The aspect ratio of the image is 1.78:1.
