I've heard that she wasn't pregnant (real life).

Not a great episode, certainly not on par with most from the first few seasons. I hate to nitpick here, but after all these years, Chandler and Ross both finally notice how small Joey's feet are, in the same night?

I was mentioning that to a friend, you would think that after living with him for like 6 years Chandler would of said something? ("COULD you feet be any smaller?")

well, in defense, a while back, it did take a while for the friends to notice that chandler wore glasses. and they still don't really know what his job is.

I read a spoiler thread from another website that said the father was Ross.

I thought it was pretty funny.

So what if the storyline is not as good as it used to be. It's been on for eight years...which might have a little something to do with that.

On the chandler thing, he's always going "I'm riiiiight, here" when two of the other friends are talking about him and he standing there.

So they don't all notice everything apparently.

Ross is starting to be funnier to me and Joey is great. My god they have to give Joey somebody more prominent to hook up with before the show ends.

They would probably need to stuff a small bear inside Jennifer Aniston's shirt to make her look pregnant.

Poor Phoebe must feel like a cow compared to the other two.

Also, NBC is running out of good shows.......and the Friends are running out of crappy movies to do.

Don't be surprised if they get another pay raise and another season.

Hell, look at ER.......they don't have hardly any original cast members and people still watch it. (for what reason I don't know)

the first half of the wedding was shown in the spring- if she was pregnant we'd know- I think they were just desperate for a plotline to follow-up the monica/chandler wedding

I think Ross is getting less funny- he's so pathetic that I go back and forth between feeling sorry for him and being disgusted with him-- dating a student was pretty bad chasing that girl in last episode did not impress me

Um, sorry, when Courteney Cox backs off her husband's drugs, fills back out to acceptable proportions, and quits jackin' with her hair, she blows the other chicks out of the water. Ah, memories of first-season Monica...mmmm...

I hate to nitpick here, but you do know that part of the appeal of this show is that it's so damn goofy and ridiculous, right...?

has anyone noticed how a lot of the characters have changed drastically...i guess the writers would just say they have grown up over the last 8 years. Joey and phoebe are the same. Monica is more neurotic. Ross is messed up (i guess emily did screw him up). Rachael has probably matured more and chandler is less funny

Actually I think it was Carol that started it.

I don't think Joey is the same. He used to be just a prettyboy actor, now he's a total moron, just one step above functional.

That made me laugh harder than any Friends episode since they did THE ONE WITH THE ROUTINE!

I saw the TV spot for next week's episode too. Rachel finally meets with the father in the coffee house, and the TV audience starts to scream (they wouldn't do that if it was Tag). Also, Joey proposes to Phoebe which sounds like something he would do on instinct after 2 of your friends marry and 2 are about to have a baby. All signs point to Ross.

It would be great plot twist though if it wasn't Ross.

I was thinking the same thing.

That could be true. I read somewhere that
Spoiler:
all the friends are paired off by the end of the series

Think it would be great if they all pair up at the end. I love the idea of Phoebe and Joey together. They will be so funny together

I thought the season opener was above average. Not great. But certainly not as bad as some of the episodes last year. Like the one where Ross dressed up in that armadillo costume to teach his son about Hanukah (!?). The worst "Friends" episode ever IMO. I expected Urkel to walk in at any moment.

Don't be so sure. The guy who played Tag is listed as a guest star in the TV Guide episode description.

I'm still holding out hope for Gunther.

Exactly... it is only "above average" if you compare it to the past couple of (pretty terrible) seasons. As much as I used to like the show, it is definitely beating the death drum. It is becoming less and less funny, resorting to lazy writing and the usual stupid sitcom stuff, and now -- gasp -- they're introducing a baby. Shows often marry off characters or introduce children right before the shows die. Looks like they're 2 for 2, just in the past few episodes...

Yep - I'm sure that it will only be a matter of weeks before NBC uses the "A Very Special Episode..." moniker for Friends to counter the freefall it will suffer after Survivor: Africa premieres.

I alway thought it would be cool if they did a spin off show where they show all the things that Phoebe has done before meeting up with the rest.. but they wont

I heard about Tag, too- but that doens't have to mean anything
Gunther deserves something- especially since he bought that creepy cat creature
