Found on another site, an ad in the LA Times is calling for contestants for the updated version of CARD SHARKS. According to the ad, potential winnings could be more than $50,000. All they ask is you have an opinion and a vocabulary. The phone number to call is (323) 462-6245.

thats the show where you basically guess what percent of people do something, then guess higher or lower on cards, right?
Why would you need a vocabulary for that?
Me think 25
Higher
Lower
thats all you need to know.

Loved that show while the original host was on...my aunt to this day still reminds me that he was/is from Camden, NJ (she lives in south Jersey, just across from Philly).

Is that Jim Perry, the same guy who hosted Sale of the Century? I've always wondered whatever happened to that guy after that. He was a really good host.

It was Jim Perry. He was one of my favorite game show hosts as well.

My favorite Card Sharks question was when they asked this late 20s male contestant:
"We asked 100 people, if a 100 lbs package of marajuana came crashing through your roof, would you keep it?"
The guy, who looked like he had had his fair share of pot during his adult years, responded: "Man, that is going to be a really high number. I'll say 65!"
The answer was around 7 or 8. I couldn't stop laughing.

Yeah they definately had their share of interesting questions in the old show.... i hope the new version can hold up against the classic version. I wonder how they are going to adjust the money/prizes.

The New Card Sharks is a sydnicated show... check your local stations. Here in Chicago, its on WCIU (13) at 9:00pm. The new one is a real stinker. And like you said, csteak101, if they didn't want to bother with the surveys, why did they waste time with those stupid "man on the street/dilemma" segments. Very dumb.
