Anyone remember the Young Ones?
There were only 12 episodes of this mid 80's British comedy show but they were all great. I remember that MTV would play it on Sunday nights around 11 PM in the late 80's. I found where you can get the videos but it would be great if BBC America would play them or release them on DVD.
Neil was the best character. He was a British hippy that was always depressed. Rick, Vyvyan, and Mike were the other guys living in the house.
Anyone catch this back when MTV usually played videos?

My favorite was the one where they were on the quiz show and someone enciled a "P" next to Rick's name and the host kept calling him prick for the whole show.
Then they had to get away in Nigel's (?) car and it had a leg tied to the hood. (I think it was the same episode - didn't they die at the end?)
Been too long - loved the show.

If you get BBC America you can occasionally find them showing it late nights on the weekends (at least they were about a month ago). I keep hearing rumors of a DVD set, but nothing solid so far . . .

Oh! Have we got a video?
For the record, Nigel Planer put out an album called Neil's Heavy Concept Album which included a lounge act version of the Sex Pistols' "God Save the Queen", several real hippie songs, and "Hole in my Shoe" which had a video.
The Young Ones did a single with Cliff Richard called "Living Doll". It's pretty good, and you can probably still find an MP3 online.
If you like The Young Ones, you'd probably also like The Dangerous Brothers, starring Ade Edmonson (Vyvyan), and Rik Mayall ((p)rik). The Dangerous Brothers are even more over the top than The Young Ones. In fact, it was banned from the BBC.
