I love B5 (and many other sci-fi shows) but just feel that the way fans treat the characters and plots as real is stupid, and is the reason the sci-fi genre is mocked by many non-fans and derided by society in general. It's because of threads/discussions like this that most people think of sci-fi fans as geeks. And yes I do hate the obsessive fans for giving the rest of us a bad name. There is more to life than TV shows. In my opinion anyway.
Don't worry, I won't intrude on your obsessive little discussions anymore and I'll stick to threads that interest me from now on.
Goodbye.

Your posts don't strike me as clever enough for trolldom.
Simply unpleasant.

I'm sorry. I went a bit mental there for a bit didn't I? I should try and be less sensitive around these parts.

Fur Q - I have a life, I know the difference between reality and fantasy and I have and always will enjoy TV. I also 100% agree with das. Part of the joy of ANY television show is to discuss it with those who also watch the show and see if they're getting the same thing out of it that you are, or if they see something different. The folks you're referring to, show up for jury duty in a starfleet uniform, talk to their communicator as though it works and are still waiting to beamed up. I don't think you'll find too many around here. Funny, when people discuss similar stuff with ER, it's fine, as soon as someone does it with a SCI-FI show, it's lame or get a life time or something.
Derrich - I will never see Delenn as a genocidal, cruel, religious fantatic. That never came across to me in JMS' writing. Obviously you're perceiving something different.

New Topic
First off, Derrich, you are crazy
Secondly, I agree 100% with elektra in that I agree 100% with myself. Before you dismiss this, you must realize that I don't agree with myself too often.
Finally, new topic: favorite episodes. I know it's a lame and tired topic, but we could use a change of pace in this thread.
Now, I'm not talking the *best* episode ... just your personal favorite. Something that hits home for you. I don't know how to begin to answer my own question, but I'll start off with "Intersections in Real Time." I know we just saw this episode on Sci-Fi a few days ago, so my enjoyment may just be centered around its recent airing, but I simply love this episode. They handle Sheridan's torture on so many levels. I wish it could have been the 4th Season cliff-hanger as originally planned, but it still works great, especially seeing Wayne Alexander again.

favorite episodes
Now I have to go look up the episode names of the ones I don't remember....
And the Rock Cried Out is my very favorite for the emotional impact. It still gives me chills every time: just the combination of Londo lying to Vir, Vir thinking he sent G'kar to his death, Londo using G'kar to get Refa....and that chase scene with the gospel music playing just is great story-writing.
War Without End 1&2 is another I really like, and Sleeping in Light, the last episode. I loved Ivanova's speech in that one, and the dinner where they all toasted to absent friends. And I got all emotional at the end: plus JMS' cameo shutting off the power was just perfect. The first time I saw that episode, it really made me realize what a real character the station was, and not just a location.

No doubt about it, my favorite episode is Z'Ha'Dum.
It sums up everything that B5 is about for me. And
the best season ending episode I've ever seen.

One of my very favourite episode is called 'Passing through Gethsemane' I think.
It's the ep. where Brad Dourif is a monk who finds out about his past.
I love this episode, not only for the great plot and superb acting, but because it is typical of what B5 does best. It shows that everybody can make mistakes, but if they're willing to work or sacrifice, then even the worst character can find redemption.
I think my favourite of all time is the 2 part 'War Without End'. I like the drama and poignant episodes too, but I also love B5's sense of humour, plus I'm a huge Zathras fan.
Whenever something breaks or goes wrong, I think "Zathras can never have anything nice!"

I watched "The Long, Twilight Struggle" again last night and it reminded me of just how good it is. Certainly my favorite season two episode. G'Kar's short speach at the end ("We taught the Centaurans that lesson once, we shall have to teach them again.") is one of the most stirring moments in B5. This is the episode where G'Kar began his transformation into a tragic and heroic figure and possibly the most popular charactor on B5.
