A current one I can think about is the two girls (I think it's two) who are supposed to be up and coming hip-hop artists. I never found the premise funny nor one of the skits, but for some reason they keep making new ones.
One from the past is the "Coffee Talk" skits with Mike Myers (the "talk amongst yourselves" skit). I usually like Mike Myers' comedy, but I never found that particular skit funny.

You don't like Coffee Talk? Blasphemy!
Seriously, I could NOT stand Molly Shannon's Mary Katherine Gallagher character, which was eventually made into a movie. I could NOT stand Chris Kattan and Will Ferrel's Eoxbury guys characters, which was eventually made into a movie. Tim Meadow's Ladies Man character was not as bad as the others I mentioned, but it was barely watchable. That was also turned into a movie.
SNL really picks great skits to turn into movies nowadays, eh?

Man!! That show is nothing BUT long running formula skits none of which are anything particularly funny. It was about 10 to 15 years ago when they stopped trying to write new stuff after the first 2 episodes with a new cast.
It was really sad when Mad TV adopted this style in their third season. Their first two seasons were pretty funny, but now that show is unwatchable as well (for me).

The ONLY current recurring characters I enjoy are the Delicious Dish chicks. I always loved The Ladies Man sketches, but that's about it from recent years.
I agree with mtucker. Man, I hated Coffee Talk! (Actually, I think I liked the very first one; the one time Myers did Paul Baldwin.)
One character I WOULD like to see again, considering how often Alec Baldwin hosts the show, is The Mimic, which he did his very first time. Anyone remember that? Very funny.

Yeah I loved Mike Meyers on the show, but Coffee Talk had to go.
I also don't like that Dog Show crap.
Ones that AI think are hilarious, is the two music teachers, that sing at all the functions. I like delicious dish, especially the one with the Pete's Schweety Wieners SKIT>

I despise all of Molly Shannon's recurring skits
The skits I enjoy the most are probably Jeopardy because of the badgering between Trebek (Ferrell) and Connery (Hammond)

Molly Shannon=Bad!
Also the Gasteyer/Farrell skit, where they musicians and they mess up popular songs, just not funny.
But perhaps not as bad as The Dog Show.
Hell, Jeopardy and Weekend Update are the only reasons to watch. At best there are only two funny skits a week. (This week being Will Ferrell saying "I'll make you drink my piss")

Well, I'm a sucker for physical comedy, so Matt Foley--Inspirational Speaker was one of my all-time favorites, and in the same vein I like Mary Catherine Gallagher.
Never liked Coffee Talk, never liked Ladies Man, don't like the two hip-hop girls---but the worst recurring character ever was Goat Boy!! Aside from not laughing, I used to just get angry to think that somebody was actually getting paid to write and perform that.

Coffee Talk
That Catholic School Girl with No Talent thing
The Cheerleader thing from recent years (a perky guy and girl)

Pretty much the show is a dump except for Jeopardy and Ambiguosly Gay Duo, if it is ever actually on.
