wear chest protection ! a lightweight supertough polymer body armour would not be a hassle and could cover both their front over their heart and their rear. Then to be defeated their opponent really has to beat them in hand to hand, take off the armour, then stake em ! since they are both handy in hand to hand that would be very tough!

Where would the vulnerability lie in that? They are vampires!!!! They could be killed at any time!!! Making them destructable adds a heightened sense of anxiety to ever fight scene. Don't be a Buffy prude, dude.

maybe because they secretly know that staking is the hardest way to kill a vampire so if they take their enemies opportunity away to do that (and focus on doing it) then their enemy will keep trying to throw them into the sunlight or just throw some holy water on them or shoot them with a silver bullet and this is a run on sentence.

Spike and Angel dont wear chest protection becasue they arent wusses. Besides, once it got out that they wore chest protection, they would then have everyone trying to decapitate them instead. So, no matter what, they always run the risk of being killed, its part of being a vampire- you subscribe to the lifestlye, you accept the vulnerabilities.

Chest protection would reduce your mobility.
Maybe a little metal patch grafted onto your ribcage (y'know just large enough to cover the right area) would be a better idea.
That way they still get to do all that high-kicking martial arts moves.
I think Buffy herself could do with a chest protecter - so it'll look like she actually has breasts, instead of the two bee-stings she currently has. Now Tara...mmmm, there's a girl with a cleavage. Just a shame she has to dress like a dyke. Oh well...

I thought Buffy was alright in the chest dept myself. Tara may have bigun's but my fave is Willow. Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr The episode of her dressed as the hooker for Halloween was great. Meow to Willow.
