Yeah, I watched all of them. I used to love this show when USA showed reruns everyday back in the 80s!:D I remember him having another GAME SHOW for kids on TBS called STARCADE, where they played Arcade Games. Anyone remember it?-confused-<small><font color=white>

Well, at least he may be with God. He died in 1999.

That was probably my favorite. I sat through some rehersals and tapings of the original version of that show.

I loved Match Game. I remember watching it when I was a kid. (And more recently on Game Show Network).

I liked the morning game shows from the '80s, too, like Card Sharks and Press Your Luck. I'd watch them in the summer when we were out of school.

Remote Control is probably my all-time favorite, though. It was always very funny (how could it not be with Adam Sandler, Colin Quinn and Ken Ober?)

Thanks for the link..

"Once he was off the show, the board was recalibrated, and the show moved to set a $75,000 limit on winnings.

As for how this story ended, Larson ran through his game show gains in less than two years and afterwards became an assistant manager at a local Wal-Mart.

Barbara "in the end, the whammy got him" Mikkelson"

I think it's pretty funny a guy who was that smart would end up working there of all places.

I was going to say the same thing, I don't think Let's Make a Deal has ever been on GSN. I remember Monty Hall complaining about the amount of money offered him for episodes, it was supposed to be a ridiculously low amount. He passed. Also, I've heard that most old episodes were in terrible shape, almost unwatchable.

I am aware of at least 2 versions of Let's Make a Deal. The one that ran from the late 60's to early 70's was reaired on CBN (now Fox Family) in the early 80's weekdays from 5-6pm. The video quality was quite good, although I can't say the same thing for the clothes. That version captured the plaid suit fashion trend pretty well.

The 2nd version was a later 80's version which didn't have the same kitsch value for me.

My favorite is Blockbuster's both the Bill Cullen and Bill Raftery ( of Real People). Raftery was quite funny on the show.

I also liked Chain Reaction hosted by Geoff Edwards- Mid 80's around noon -NBC and later moved to Canada and aired on USA Network afternoons. You can play this game on line at sony.com

PRESS YOUR LUCK!

It is the ultimate game show!

No wammies! No wammies! Big bucks! Big bucks!!

Eplicon 04-22-01 11:51 AM

As a kid, I used to spend my afternoons watching "Split Second" (with Tom Kennedy). It was fun to see if the contestant would win the car in the end.

I kinda like "The Weakest Link," because this is one of those rare shows where contestants get chewed out and humiliated on TV. (I'm not too keen about contestants that come on game shows that try to make a them for themselves, which is all too often. :))

The Price is Right and Match Game are the best. I love hearing some of the old time announcers. I always try to catch the end of Match Game on GSN to hear "This is Johnny Olson speaking..." (that is, when the morons at GSN aren't covering it with promos for the "All New Three's a Crowd.") Reminds me of when I was a little kid watching the Price is Right before Johhny died. "Come on down!"

ALSO...$ale of the Century needs to be on GSN!! I think Jim Perry was a great GS host. (whatever happened to him?) Props to "Press Your Luck" also. And bring back "Inquisition!" The shows on in its place suck!
