Bally Sports Plus streaming service
Why did they replace Fox Sports Go with this piece of shit app? They even delayed the release almost another month because it wasn't ready. A month later and launched it is a miserable piece of crap. To force this app on us in place of one that worked fine is unacceptable.

Re: Bally Sports App......Why????
Sinclair Broadcasting owns all the local Fox Sports affiliates and change the name. It's pisses me off because here in DFW the only cable company showing my teams are At&t. I was not happy when Hulu Live removed Fox Southwest without a mention but had no problem raising prices.

You know the biggest travesty? The forced ads. You subscribe to the service through whatever means and when you fire up the app, you are forced to watch 2 ads. I mean that is ridiculous.

Bally Sports direct to consumer streaming service will have a soft launch in Q2. Too bad there will be no sports if baseball is still in lockout.

Through their RSN Bally Sports App, Sinclair has been promising a DTC sports streaming app since early 2021. According to Sinclair's projections, the app will cost $225 per year, which comes out to $18.75 per month. The company had been circulating a $23 a month price point for the Bally Sports DTC service as part of Sinclair’s fundraising efforts. That number was soundly denied by Sinclair CEO Chris Ripley in an interview with the Baltimore Business Journal.

Easy access to my local sports teams has been the single biggest reason I continue to be a cable subscriber, but giving that kind of money to Sinclair makes my stomach turn.

I am about to lose my Bally Sports access through a family member's credentials. Not happy about it. I may result to alternative means because it is ridiculous there are so few methods to get local sports content. I would easily pay for NBA League Pass and MLB.TV if I could watch my local teams. So ridiculous that this shit is still locked down with blackouts.

For value, I think it depends on how much coverage your Bally Sports region has and what sports you're interested in. Like I wouldn't pay $20 per month for Bally Sports New Orleans. All they have is Pelicans.

Re: Bally Sports App......Why????
Maybe, but if the app is functionally efficient it would be a way for people like me who only keep cable for easy access to local sports (in my case the Cardinals and the Blues) to finally cut the cable. I pay a lot more than $20 a month for cable. It's probably something I won't consider until my three year Disney pre-pay expires in November, when I'll adjust my hulu plan.

Re: Bally Sports App......Why????
I will say this about Bally Sports and their new paid app launch. If your city has NBA, NHL and MLB and maybe some college sports covered by that region, then I think it's not a bad deal for the price they want.
But then again, if you only follow one sport or your region only has 1 pro team, then it's probably not worth it for some.

Re: Bally Sports App......Why????
Sinclair’s press release says fans this fall will be able to watch NBA and NHL teams via Bally Sports+ but there’s no mention of whether the service will add more MLB teams. As of now, Bally Sports+ offers just five MLB teams — Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals, Miami Marlins, Tampa Bay Rays and Milwaukee Brewers.
The company has announced it has rights deals with all NBA and NHL teams it offers in the 19 Bally Sports markets, but it only has agreements with the five MLB teams. With the MLB season ending around when Bally Sports+ launches, it would appear that Sinclair will not add additional live baseball games until next season, if then.
The nine teams that Sinclair has not secured deals with are: Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Guardians, San Diego Padres, Arizona Diamondbacks, Cincinnati Reds, Texas Rangers, Minnesota Twins, St. Louis Cardinals, and Los Angeles Angels.

They have the rights to 5 teams. Sounds like since it's launching so late in the season, that they will likely wait until 2023 to get the rest
And this also:

Q: Why can't I find my baseball team on the app?
Bally Sports currently has the rights to stream the Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals, Miami Marlins, Milwaukee Brewers and Tampa Bay Rays on Bally Sports+. We are in discussions with MLB and our other MLB team partners to expand our offering next year.

Re: Bally Sports App......Why????
I wouldn't get the Bally Sports + app even if I was a complete cord cutter.
The two teams I care about: Dodgers and Lakers are on Spectrum Sports.
And I don't care about the Clippers, Angels, Ducks and Kings who are on Bally in my market. So it would be useless for me.
And yes I agree it's expensive. If you're trying to cut your TV costs, this is pretty pricey for something that you're likely not going to watch regularly. Not everyone can watch every televised game.
