Has passed 11M subscribers in about 1 month. Expected to reach 12M by next month
Not bad at all for a streaming service that doesn't have scripted programming. But, the Discovery brand is pretty well known.

Watch Christopher Lloyd on a mission to find Back to the Future DeLorean(s) on new show
Dan SniersonMarch 01, 2021 at 11:42 AM ESTLloyd joins host Josh Gates for a four-part Expedition Unknown series that features appearances by Michael J. Fox and Lea Thompson
Doc Brown finally invented something that worked — and now he's going to find it. All seven of them, actually.
Christopher Lloyd – who played mad genius Doc Brown in the Back to the Future trilogy – is on a mission to locate the DeLorean DMC-12 that was transformed into a time machine in the beloved 1985 sci-fi adventure film. In the Discovery+ four-part series Expedition: Back to the Future, Lloyd teams up with Expedition Unknown host Josh Gates to track down the other versions of the dimension-busting car that made some serious s--- happen at the speed of 88 m.p.h., EW has learned.
As you may know, the main DeLorean rests at the Peterson Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, but as it turns out, the franchise used six other versions. So the duo head out on a quest for the perfect DeLorean time machine, which will be given to Lloyd's partner in time-hopping adventure, Michael J. Fox , to sell at auction to benefit the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
Along the way — and the way includes L.A., Houston, New York, and Orlando — Gates and Lloyd cross paths with Back to the Future cast members including Fox, Lea Thompson, Donald Fullilove, James Tolkan, and Harry Waters Jr, as well as Bob Gale, who co-wrote the screenplay for Back to the Future with director Robert Zemeckis (and wrote Part II and Part III). They also chat up DeLorean experts, collectors, and Future superfans to learn more about the lore of the legendary ride.
All four episodes of Expedition: Back to the Future debut Mar. 15 on Discovery+. It's your density to watch the first promo above, which features Lloyd (in Doc's Hawaiian shirt!) and Gates cruising around in a DeLorean, with a special guest appearance from an unforgiving Mr. Strickland.
The Back to the Future cast reconvened virtually last year in a Reunited Apartpanel hosted by Josh Gad.
This sounds cool. My parents have Discovery+ so maybe I’ll sign in with their account to watch this.

The Bobby Flay/Giada de Laurentis Italy show is 4 eps and good. Basically a mix of travel/cooking show. They are always good together.

Speaking of great food porn, although it’s not on Discovery +, but Stanley Tucci’s Searching for Italy on CNN is every bit as good as this show. I love them both equally. Tucci’s show has already been picked up for a second season. I hope Bobby and Giada do more as well.

Re: Discovery + streaming service
I was complaining earlier in the year about Discovery+ pulling all my favorite shows from cable/Hulu Live - ID channel, Discovery, Travel, etc. All the new episodes aired exclusively on Discovery+
Well, now the most recent seasons are appearing as reruns on Hulu Live On Demand like they did before the streaming service debuted. So I’m happy again to watch these shows.
While I’m not a paying customer of Discovery+, I do indirectly pay for their cable channels via my Hulu Live subscription (the channel fees get passed on to me). I now see value with those channels again.

Re: Discovery + streaming service
So my parents are trying to use the Discovery+ app and are having issues. Both have Android devices (Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10e, and some type of Samsung tablet), and are trying to cast to a Chromecast. For a while it was working just fine, but over the last couple weeks or so it’s been giving an error message.
I’ve had them sign out of the app, uninstall and reinstall the app, restart the devices (including the Chromecast) but no change. Anyone else having the same issue?
I have an iPhone 11 and when I cast to the Chromecast it works fine. So it seems to be something with Android.

They finally added individual episodes for House Hunters and House Hunters International. There's multiple listings for each show, since there's so many episodes. They're divided into Volumes, and each volume has around 20 seasons.

Watching some of the old episodes of the first season from back in 1999. Pretty amusing at times.

My free year is up in January from Verizon. Likely not to renew it. I have watched some stuff on there, but more just watching shows that have aired. Better quality picture/sound than YTTV and not have to worry about skipping commercials. If they combined it, I would be happy.

Re: Discovery + streaming service
I'll likely not be renewing after this month. Just not enough interesting content to justify even $6.99 a month. The paranormal section is all I was interested in to begin with and even that's not as compelling as I'd hoped.
However, I'd love if HBO Max merged with the service as I watch that much more regularly...and the content is top notch.

Was just going to ask about deals lol. I'm gonna do AMC+ for $2/month for a year. Any good deals on Disc+?

For me, I've been happy with the $4.99/mo (with ads). But I have interest in true crime, paranormal (I think they have all seasons of Ghost Hunters now) and home improvement (plus they have all seasons of Mythbusters, which I like to have on as background while working).

Looks like my $59 one year subscription will be expiring in the next month, I tried to convince my kids that we don't need it, but they want to keep it around, so I guess I'll be paying $7 for the foreseeable future.
