Re: Apple TV+ -- News and Rumors -- To launch Mid 2019

Even if the show had gotten amazing reviews it still would have been a hard sell because of lack of other programming on the service. I don't think you can launch a network with only four or five shows.

Yeah. Is anyone here going to pay actual money for this service when it launches? I am getting it because I got a new iPad but no way would I sign up for it otherwise

Re: Apple TV+ -- News and Rumors -- To launch November 1, 2019

Am I really not going to be able to watch Apple TV+ on my Android phone? That's really, really lame.
I watch most of my non-event TV programs while running on a treadmill at the gym. Don't know when I will watch this stuff now.

It's Apple, so iOS only. Android is never a part of their party. But the Apple+ app is now available on other platforms, so who knows. But I've always seen Android as the enemy of iOS, so I'm not sure if they'll be that open to creating one for it.

The Apple TV app is on Roku, but there's a glitch. And apparently it's on the Amazon Fire stick as well.

But yeah it's highly doubtful they will put this on Android.

Re: Apple TV+ -- News and Rumors -- To launch November 1, 2019

Well it is on the Roku.
If they want to reach as many people as possible with what is, let's be honest, the most content-limited streaming service available, they would have been smart to include to app in the Google Play store as well. What is the downside? Nobody is going to choose an iPhone over a Samsung Galaxy phone because of the ability to stream Apple TV+.

Eh, you never know. Apple's aim is to make them suffer. But I do doubt that not having it available on Android will cause any customers to jump from Apple. Especially since it's for an Apple service.

Re: Apple TV+ -- News and Rumors -- To launch November 1, 2019

The service is live. I subscribed to it via my iPhone and I'm ready to rock. It looks like the first 3 episodes of each show are available to watch immediately, so I assume the remainder will get released once a week.

I'm too tired to dig in right now, so I will start that up in the morning.

for those who bought a new Apple device you have to sign in and approve the subscription for the free 12 months through your new device.

I did this this morning...it was easy enough and no hoops to jump through. Hopefully Disney+ is as easy when I try to apply my free year through Verizon.

Not sure where to post this, so I'll start here.

Saw this on SD, Apple 4k 32GB is $90 at ATT

https://www.att.com/buy/accessories/...2gb-black.html

Should include free year of Apple TV

Hardware purchased after September 10th, 2019 is eligible.

The app will know if you're eligible or not. My iOS app had a graphic that said I was eligible for a free year...I just had to click on it and apply a billing method for when my year runs out. If you don't see that graphic, you're either not eligible or Apple doesn't have a record of your purchase.

Its already on some Android OS based devices (FireTV and Sony Tvs). They'll likely release Android and AndroidTV apks soon.

Don't cancel your free trial until right before you get charged at the end. If you cancel early, you lose out on rest of free trial.

My niece is loving the new Ghostwriter show.

Unfortunately, there's only 7 episodes. So it's just 3 hours of content. Hopefully there will be more added later. But I can't find any info on it.

https://www.cordcuttersnews.com/appl...gm-the-pac-12/

Apple TV Plus is reportedly had talks to add content from MGM and possibly live sports from Pac-12 Network.

I don't think Pac-12 has any chance of happening because of their fucked up cable contracts, which last like 5 more seasons. They can't even offer a standalone app because they are afraid of undermining their current contracts, which would cost them millions.

Well if they did work it out, because I have DirecTV which has never had Pac 12, I would actually look at subscribing.

I haven’t even opened this app since the launch. I plan to finally watch The Newsro- eh... The Morning Show during the holiday break and make use of that free year.
