re: Apple TV -- streaming service

Yeah, TV+ had quietly become the most consistent streamer in my book. Hopefully they can keep it up.

T-mobile just gave everybody a free year. What are some good movies? I don't have time for a show.

They only have a handful of movies, I know most didn't love it but I did like Finch and CODA won Best Picture this year.

Severance is the best show this year imho. Acapulco was cute.

Greyhound is also good with Tom Hanks.

Thanks I'll check them out! And yes Greyhound was an excellent movie. That's the boat one though right? My husband and I started talking though how Tom Hanks is always the same in the plane movie and the pirate movie and the boat movie, always the tortured soul. He does it well but it's the same perforance different dressing.

I really like Mythic Quest. It's a comedy about people that make video games. It's 20 30 minute episodes so it's not too time consuming.

We have T-Mobile and we've been meaning to get Apple TV+ to finally catch Ted Lasso and hearing you all gush about Severance has us interested. Plus, our Roku remote has an Apple TV+ button, so I'll sign up this weekend.

That does not sell this show. Someone said the same of The Batman in that thread, something like how at three hours "it's an investment," and I remember thinking, eek, considering how much or little time it takes to get through something is not an enticing review!

Oh man those trailers all look awesome. Except Finch the description hadn't sold me and the trailer didn't either. Severance looks so good and I love memory movies. I had of course heard about coda because of the Oscars.

Got an offer on my smart tv for three months free so took it. My girlfriend and I want to check out Ted Lasso anyways, and there might be a few other things I’ll watch on it.

She said she didn't have time for a show, but I was offering Mythic Quest as an alternative where you can watch all the episodes in the time it takes to watch 4-5 movies or one season of a 1 hour per episode show like Severance. There's not a lot of movies on Apple TV+. I was just trying to give her an alternative when she ran out of movies to watch.

Oh yeah, I also loved Ted Lasso and Mythic Quest. I only mentioned Finch because I didn't hate it and can't think of a lot of Apple+ movies , it was forgettable but I didn't dislike it. I also liked s1 of the Morning Show a good bit.

Severance starts out slow and is a time investment but is 100% worth it.

I can't place the protagonist of Severance even though he looks very familiar othen than as a bit player in other movies. It's driving me nuts.

re: Apple TV -- streaming service

Parks and Rec and Party Down were his two biggest roles.

Big Little Lies, Step Brothers, The Good Place, Secret Life of Walter Mitty. He's in a lot of stuff but as you said mostly supporting cast.

Yeah I went through the whole list I think it's probably a Judd Apatow bit role.

Is Tehran any good? Looks like it could be interesting.

Season has a 94% RT score and 80% audience score. It’s gotten mostly good reviews, but it seems like one of those shows that got lost in the glut of streaming shows.

I’d like to try it, but don’t know when I’ll have the time.

Tehran is high brow entertainment. Loved the first season but adore most Israeli shoes similar to Fauda.

re: Apple TV -- streaming service

I just got the 1 year of Apple TV + for free for upgrading my T-Mobile plan. I was already in the middle of my paid $50 year and had 3 months left, so this just added to it and my next Apple TV bill won't be until August 2023.

Best Buy has a similar offer for 3 months of free Apple TV+.

I think you can probably do the Best Buy offer first, cancel when the 3 months is up, and then sign-up again with the Target code (which doesn't expire until June 2022) for 4 more months.
The Target one has been extended until 9/26.
I redeemed it last week or so, and it said expires around 6/21.

Wondering if it can be double dipped now since it shows up for me again.

Is that the last day for signup (hence your free sub would theoretically expire 2023/01/26) or the last day a Target signup would last even if you signed up 09/25? Theoretically I could sign up the Best Buy deal today, which would expire 09/15, and then sign up for the Target deal on 09/16 to expire 2023/01/16.

Only if using different emails etc as I read it is only for new accounts. Otherwise I'd grab it again.
